Why don't comedy cartoons have production values on pare or better then this in this day of age? We're supposed to be playing catch up with this people.

Why would any cartoon channel or animation studio spend a ton of money on a comedy show's animation and styling when the core part of the show is the humor itself?

>spending so much money on production values that you can only afford 4 episodes
animation is expensive, and I imagine the profits aren't great for tv cartoons

Castlevania looked so nice cause, like a lot of 80's OVAs people like to jerk off, most of the "animation" are still images with maybe a few things in movement. It's obvious the entire budget went into the last episode.
If a comedy looks too serious, no one will be able to take it seriously as a comedy.

Also Castlevania:TAS is only $200,000 a episode, thats not alot of money for a cartoon.
