On one hand, I hated the change. On the other, I found her hawt. But annoying. But I got a trade as a Secret Santa gift last year and... I kinda loved it. I never picked up Thor (though I'm looking into the older issues by Simonson and did read God Butcher), but I'm thinking of starting with 700. If anything, Dauterman's art is splendid. And while I hate Aaron for destroying Doctor Strange, at least he writes Jane better than Waid.

You had Thunderstrike, you had whatever the hell was going on in JMS's run pun intended, you had the "Asgard is on Earth" gimmick...

BRB was a sales gimmick, we all know it. He was great and I'm not trying to say Jane is even close to that, but on the basic level, they're the same thing: a shocking change to help pick up badly lapsed sales.

I think the only strange thing here is that Aaron's Thor prior to Jane was pretty critically well-received while it was running. Maybe that didn't translate to sales and everyone here seems to have already forgotten about it.

Anyway I don't think anyone would have had a problem with this if it had happened several years ago, before all the PC culture wars shit got so out of control, when literally no one was buying Thor and they desperately put Fraction on it.

Beta Ray Bill is essentially the same story, but a thousand times better and actually introduced a great character to the Thor story.
