I'm gonna kill my fucking landlord. How do you guys protect your shit?
>>
Laminate everything, or put them in sleeves.
>>
Not leave it in a wet basement?
>>
>>93803906
First, you need to prove those are indeed yours, and not some image you found online.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Keep things off the floor, cover them, bag them, etc. Also keep people who could do them harm away, something also important that can be forgotten.

Holy shit bag and board your comics you fucking mongrel. You don't deserve those if you're not going to treat them right.
>>
>>93803906

Nigga, that's black mould. You should be wearing safety equipment handling that shit.
>>
>>93804127
Our flood got INTO the bags, holding the water good & tight. Found out at the same time those nice durable plastic long boxes held water like a teapot, steeping my collection like a RedRose bag.
>>
>>93804127
>Basement
He probably lives in a sub-level apartment and didn't realize how prone to flooding they are. The same thing happened to my Pokemon cards.
>>
>>93803906
Not your landlord's problem. Those ruined comics are YOUR fault.

1. Put comics in a sleeve that you can purchase at any comic book store, or online
2. don't store them in a cardboard box or anything that isn't water proof.
3. Ideal storage should be in large plastic containers
4. Don't leave your comics in the basement or the attic.
5. Stop blaming your landlord for your idiot decision to improperly store your comics.
>>
>>93803906
is that mold?
>>
>>93804279
Those aren't comics. They're cards retard.
>>
>>93804298
Then nothing of value was lost.
>>
>>93803906
Nigga, if that's black mold (and it sure as hell looks like it) get that shit out of your house
>>
>>93804228
>>93804295
>>93804363

This is his origin story. Don't listen OP, breathe it in and spread it on your body. You'll have control over the mold dimension.
>>
>>93804270

This. They were stored in a high closet shelf and this just happened from a crack that formed from a splitting foundation. Felt like>>93804266
probably did.

>>93804279

I don't know, man. Multiple reports of cracks forming and no maintenance being done over 2 months gives a bit of responsibility to the guy.
>>
>>93804143

No FF set in either box. I would've spazzed out. Villains is a sad loss, though.

It's all replaceable. If there are cracks in the building then you should file a complaint with the proper authorities. If that doesn't work then move out.

A bunch of silly, ruined cards and comics are the least of your worries if you landlord is that shitty at their job.

It's still your fault for choosing to live in a building with a shitty landlord who won't fix things. It is YOUR responsibility to report the landlord for not upholding a contract with their tenants.
>>
>>93803954
>>93804127

OH, I GET IT! I took these pics while I was outside on the way to trash this shit.
>>
>>93804461
has there even been a hero or villain in comics with mold powers?
>>
>>93803906

Pfff, my fucking house burned down last month and somehow the majority of my comics and dvds survived. Sorry for the damage man, but you've still got them, be happy.

Pic related was the first box I found, I couldn't save everything, but I did walk away with the titles on my current pull list that I really enjoy.
>>
>>93804298
Why are we supposed to care then?

>>
>>93803906
Dude put gloves and a mask on holy shit. Also sorry about your cards, you might want to put them on a shelf next time or a safer place. If you can't though just put them in a big ziploc bag. Best info I can give you now though is to put them out in the sun or someplace warm and dry.

>How do you guys protect your shit?

I work in restoration. Put all of your shit in totes. Put all of your important shit (passports, birth certificates, etc.) in a fireproof lockbox. Lock it but leave the key in it so a burglar doesn't steal it without checking what's inside
>>
>>93804157
Okay, in that case there are only 2 things one can do with books and comics:
1) Never store them in the basement
2) If on the first floor, store above floor level

And you should sue your landlord. Provided you know the laws that is. Property damage is serious business.

Maybe not in whatever third world shithole you're from, but in the US, it is ABSOLUTELY the landlord's problem. OP, you can sue, claim insurance, whatever the hell you gotta do to get the money to replace this stuff.
>>
>>93804819
Damn man.

I hope you're doing alright now.
