Anybody else here really love environmental animation effects, like water, wind, rain, lightning, smoke, dust, etc? It's always something that I enjoy.

fuck off faggot. Nobody likes you, everyone thinks you're a cunt, both your parents are disappointed in you and people audibly sigh when you approach them because they can smell you coming. The only reason you haven't necked yourself yet is because you're a fucking coward

It's often as "if you do it right people will barely notice it, but if you do it wrong it is all they will talk about" situation.
Underappreciated.

based monstro

I love it too, it's really cool to look at.

I recently watched Pinocchio and was amazed at how every monstro sequence was very painterly and each frame looked like something in the background that was painted but not intended to be animated. He looks great

>>>/v/ that way

I know, but I mean how monstro has smooth shading. Look at the pillow in that webm versus his blanket and how different they look.

It requires a different set of skills, probably one that is actually more difficult to accomplish than drawing it because sometimes the people doing those effects are actual engineers.
I still admire 2D more because it makes something that is clearly fake look realistic while CG can very easily look realistic and doesn't take as much effort to convince the audience.

>The background is slightly different because they had to hand-paint two different ones for a scene.
I know it's technically "incorrect" and might pop, but I find it slightly charming. We take our photoshop layers for granted.
