The MCU and DCEU have spat out around half a dozen movies each year, and there are 700 movies that come out each year too. And that didn't really cause any increase in the amount of capeshit that gets pumped out annually. As before the MCU was made, it was five films a year for almost two decades. So superhero films are just a drop in the bucket whose actual amount people grossly overestimate.

Based Marvel has the greatest combination of critical and financial success relative to the number of movies produced of any movie studio created after the 1930s. Better than Pixar and Lucas Film before the prequels and better at making movies as well. Only James Cameron as a director is in the conversation as being at a similar level from a similar time period and without having had a decline, but he isn't as prolific in production. Based Marvel is making at least a hit per year now.

MCU is now comfy by proxy. "Hey, look to that reference to something that happened in 2010!"

But the DCEU is now in exciting world-building. Justice League, Justice League Dark (if it happens), Gotham City Sirens and Green Lantern Corps have potential to elevate this excitement to the maximum, because they enlarge the world.

MoS >= Iron Man >= WW > BvSUC >= WS >= HC

I like DCEU more right now but they are equal in number of quality movies. I hope Thor and JL can be as good as the movies above.
