This is a meme. It promises gritty fantasy adventures with wacky cartoon characters for protagonists and instead we get toned down fantasy adventure with the protagonists' nature playing no role in it. A overall better than average comic, 7/10, nothing "essential" about it.

- Hard Boiled (One of the best and lesser known Frank Miller's works imo)
- Devilman (I know it's a manga but fuck it, it's amazing)
- Akira (same as Devilman)
- Ripple (If you have guts made of iron)
- Judge Dredd
- A Small Killing (never seen someone bringing this up when talking of Alan Moore)
- Cerberus
