IM1 takes place in 2008.

IM2, TIH and Thor 1 take place six months later. So possibly in early 2009 assuming IM1 took place in late 2008.

Avengers takes place one year after the events of Thor 1 as Fury stated that Thor's fight in Puente Antiguo took place one year previous, to it's 2010.

In Iron Man 3, Stark asks Maya if she has a 12 year old kid and she jokes that the nonexistent kid is 13. They fucked on New Years 2000.

Iron Man 3 is a couple months after the Avengers so they were clearly aiming for the Avengers to be around 2012-2013.

Since each Spidey solo adventure will take place during one of his years in high school, and because they need to have Homecoming 3 take place closer when it comes out so it stays "in the now" and relevant to the time, the timeline starts to crawl to a halt so to speak. Spider-Man becomes their new priority in dictating the timeline.

Homecoming 3 will probably come out in 2021 but take place in 2022 (a nice, comfortable position to be in--only 1 year apart); Homecoming 2 comes out 2019 and will take place in 2021 (since HC1 takes place in 2020 apparently). Every other MCU movie released between now and HC2 will take place in the September 2020-September 2021, right before HC2 since that takes place immediately after Avengers 4.

In terms of the shows, they aren't a concern to Marvel Studios since they aren't produced by them, but it's been widely accepted that the Netflix shows take place when they were filmed, while AoS follows the pattern of when the movies are released if their events are dictated by the corresponding movie (ie: Thor 2, Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron, and Civil War--that's it thus far, anyways).

We can't say that an editor "screwed up" with the 8 year titlecard thing because even in the movie's dialogue, Toomes says "8 years of us doing our own thing and we haven't been bothered by the feds or those guys in Stark Tower." This was intentional so Penis Parker's high school movies line up with "the now."

The film says it takes place in Late '16/Early '17. I think the script writer got the timeline wrong. Instead of 8 years it should've been 4 years. That or the gang is really dumb, which not suprising really.
