How long is too long?

What is the golden point between head-stubs and Bat-Antlers?
>>
Depends on the context of the story.
>>
Neal Adams' Bats had the perfect length.
>>
>>93752846
Horror/noir = long.
Cape/scifi = short
Detective/martial arts book = Mid
>>
>>93753094
Why
>>
>>93753094
>Cape
???

Isn't literally all of batman capeshit?
>>
>>93752846

There's no such thing as too short. The shortest versions look the least bad.

No.

But also, this shit can't work with short ears
>>
Which one, /co/?
>>

The Ear length is determined by how edgy the series or run is.

Nick Derrington, current artist for Doom Patrol, draws a fucking sexy Batman. Those trunks, those gloves, them boots.

And look at those ears. Look how they flow from the cheeks, I bet he'd look sweet as just a head and cape, dodging and swerving and shit.

I fucking love Derrington.
>>
>>93753325
for that specific cowl it's best to just go with the last one, but it depends entirely on how the rest of the head is shaped
>>
>>93754844

Yes, really. There's no point to having giant ears on a mask, you should make them as understated as possible.

Medium length is Batman's best look. I hate how it's become the norm to draw them as stubby as possible, when it used to vary from artist to artist.

Year one costume showed up in a fast food glass. Dc rebirth previews hinted at carmines.

Neal Adams version no where to be found. Unless he dropped it earlier pre Jason Todds death in rebirth history.

Again, not viable because that is his style and it will never be canon. Nothing he does would be canon. It is too edgy for DC and casuals. That is why it is a moot (r.i.p cancerous sell out) point.

Yeah the neal adams costume replaced with trokia in the 90s.

Only for the boots and gloves to revert the shapes then become part of the costume again.
>>
>>93760384
Why didn't they stick with the black? It looks so good.
>>
>>93762345
Because of the retro tas style costume later.

Morrisons run used a version of the troika costume and spiderman/batman.

If it's supposed to be scary or sad then I think long. If it's supposed to be gritty, more like a brawler/action or he's old, then short. Everything else can be medium.
>>
>>93762769

Short also works for comedy.

Subtle coloration shift. Much like Spider-Man's old red/black suit, artists would slip and shade it more sparingly, causing the inkers to ink it less heavily, until it just looked like a darker version of the old suit. Now, this wasn't the case across the board, but by the time artists started drawing it more consistently during No Man's Land, the switched to the retro suit right afterwards.

Batman's golden age mask was pure cowlkino.

Mainly because it actually resembled the shape of a bat's head.
>>

>>
>>93752846
The shorter, the better.
Batman should be a stocky, brawler type who looks like he could clean out a room full of mooks with nothing but a smoke pellet and his own fists.

>>93754844
