Why is he the best MCU villain? Is it because he had backstory? Is it because he had character? Is it because he didn't die like a bitch ?
>>
Maybe Marvel's finally getting around to having good villains.

Anyone willing to take bets if Thor fucks this streak?
>>
>>93710689
This really isn't a streak, Dormammu sucked. Zemo was good enough, though.
>>
>>93710530
I feel like people have been saying "X is the best MCU villain" for every bad guy since Avengers, and everytime they're wrong
>>
>>93711159
I've hated every villain since Avengers, minus maybe Zemo. But Keaton Vulture is really good.
>>
>>93711159
Keaton is the only good MCU villian. The fact that he is legit great is just a bonus.
>>
>>93711066
Did you skip Guardians 2?
>>
>>93711450
No. Ego was fine. Is "two" a streak where you come from?
>>
>>93711572
Not him, but technically speaking anything more than one WOULD be a streak.
>>
>>93711633
>the best we can get is a technicality
Super.
>>
>>93711665
Why you gotta be like that, my dude? Never satisfied, I tell ya.
>>
The scene with him and Peter in the car was seriously scary. Was that just me?
>>
>>93711697
There's not much to be satisfied about here.
>>
>>93710530
I loved how small scale his plan was.
>>
>>93711708
>"I want you to understand that I'd do anything to protect my family."
>"I know you know what I'm talking about."
>"So don't mess with me."
>"'Cause I'm Batman."
>>
>>93711159
Keaton's Vulture really is great. Go see SM:HC if you haven't.
>>
>>93713449
Yeah, this is what I really liked about him. He had believable motivations and actions. He was a threat but operated at a Spider-Man scale. He wasn't trying to take over the world, and he wasn't just a psycopath.
>>
>>93711708
No, that scene was great. They did an excellent job of slowly building the tension, and Keaton was truly menacing.

I really liked the Vulture figuring out Spider-man's identity. It seemed like a nice,
realistic development that he'd put the pieces together. It's always stupid when the villain can't see the obvious truth under his nose.
>>
>>93710530

The only time I didn't like him was when at the end, he has peter in his talons and could easily kill him, but sees the cargo and goes, "Oh hey cool nevermind this threat, I'm just gonna get the goods, bye!" Seemed very out of character.
>>
>>93711708
>>93713684
HE ACTED LIKE
A
GODDAMN
ACTUAL
VULTURE
Jesus fucking christ. Vulture ain't no bitch no mo
>>
>>93713822
They should have shown him hovering around recently dead things and eating their rotting flesh.

I liked the main confrontation scene in the warehouse/base where he pretty much relates to Peter how they're both just the little guys trying to make a living in a world that's ruled by the rich and powerful. Really brought things into perspective with how much Peter stubbornly tried to appease Stark when he didn't actually have to.
>>
>>93710530

reminder he literally didn't do anything wrong and there's nothing wrong with selling other people weapons that they then choose to do wrong with
>>
>>93714292
>fucked over by Stark
>not selling weapons to Ten Rings, making big bucks (assuming they're a powerful international organization) and giving a middle finger to Stark
>>
>>93710530
Really hope he comes back in the future.

Not really. His drive was to support. He was never big on killing those who stood in his way. So it is either kill the guy when you don't always kill, or get the goods and support your family like you always do.
>>
>>93713758
Peter was messed up pretty bad at that point. Vulture probably assumed that Peter was no threat.

I feel like he would be a better Carnage then Scorpion after watching Homecoming. I didn't even know he was in the movie to begin with.
>>
>>93715999
Him, Shocker, Vulture, Spot's tech, Doc Oc's anti gravity gun mentioned.
Can't wait to see how big a group his "friends" are.
>>
>>93710530
All three anon. Plus, the acting was nice.
>>
>>93716340
>Shocker, Spot, Ock, Scorpion, Vulture and Mysterio working together
Holy shit, I'd read that.
>>
Did the thing they gave him at the end make his suit green? The lighting was super dark so I couldn't tell.
>>
>>93713758
They didn't kill eachother because both wanted his daughter to be happy
>>
>>93710530
I'd honestly enjoy the movie much more if it was just about him and his demolition team.

Spazzy Spidey was the worst part of the film.
>>
>New Hulkbuster
>Prototype Shield
>Megingjord
What else was in the plane besides the million arc reactors
>>
This got me thinking, is Vulture good because Spider-Man actually has great villains in the comics? The likes of Malekith, Yellowjacket or Iron Monger are pretty damn forgettable in the comics too, it's not just a movie thing.
>>
>>93715221
the ending scenes foreshadowed the sinister six still happening

>>93718500
I'd say the highschool parts were the worst since none of parker's classmates were likeable.

also why did flash look so wimpy? he looks like someone parker would've bullied.
>>
>>93718715
>Iron Monger
>Forgettable in the comics

kekno
Stane was one of the best Iron Man villains, if not THE best. Issue 200 was god tier.
>>
>>93718755
And he's also the only good villain in Iron Man films.
>>
>>93711708

It's not often a movie does such a good job of getting across the protagonists fear that you think "yeah, if that was me I'd just give in and leave it" rather than just assuming they'll do the heroic thing by default.
>>
>>93710530

The Reason Marvel has been so successful is because the Villains die.

You can't keep having movies where the same villain fights the same hero with no repercussions, either the hero should die or the villain should, or at least the villain should fuck off somewhere else for a while.

Not like fucking X-men where Osama bin Magneto gets away with a new holocaust every film or Batman where him and Le Jokester never try to actually stop each other when they have the chance.
>>
>>93710530
>MCU villain?
Iron Man is best MCU villain.
>>
>>93713896
>>93715256

Also literally gives the speech about how the rich leave people like him to pick at the scraps so survive.
>>
Was I the only one who noticed the Ultron head in the boxes of shit Vulture was looking through on the plane? Not a drone head, one of Ultron's actual heads. That implies some serious shit if the wrong person gets their hands on it.
>>
>>93720477
Yep.
Pretty sure he's scrounged together more of Ultron's parts, seeing how there's even cannons made from Ultron arms.
>>
Vulture was okay. He only got good once you find out he is Lizz's dad. Compared to other MCU villains, he's great but that's not saying much considering 95% of MCU villains are the same/ bad

Also, you got to love how he vaporizes one guy and then is just perfectly fine with knowingly killing a 15 year old.

>First thing we see him doing is picking the armor off a leviathan
>survive off stealing old pieces of discarded tech
10/10 adaptation, seriously, one of my least favorite Spidey villains and they made him great. does anyone have a shot of that perched pose Vulture was in while he waited on the billboard?
>>
>>93722069
It was a pretty dan good pose. Reminded me of Songbird from Bioshock Infinite.

>>93710530
The costume is just so perfect. The fur of the bomber jacket being used as a substitute for Toomes' usual ruffle thing was genius.
>>
>>93718845
You can have villains recurring. It just depends on the type of villains. Loki is recurring. Scarecrow was recurring in the Nolan films. We'll see if Vulture is too.
>>
>>93722571

Loki is fucking shit, just some emo who gets away with genocide because he's le misunderstood edgy teen tumblr faggot

He wasn't a threat though, he was right. Pete straight-up lost the fight, he just managed to save him from dying in the fire of the explosion afterwards. I thought that was really cool, can't really think of a superhero movie where the hero doesn't actually win the final fight, this spidey is scrappy as fuck. I love it.
>>

That was the joke I was making, Anon.

He killed someone.
>>
>>93714339

The actual Ten Rings appears to be secretive as fuck, they're not the kind of people a blue collar guy like Adrian could ever get in touch with.
>>
>>93710530
That moment when Peter slowly gathers enough strenght to lift those concrete slabs while screaming "come on, Spider-Man!" is already one of my favorites of the entire MCU so far. The way he's completely desperate and afraid at first until he sees his own reflection next to his mask is equal parts moving and hype as fuck
>>
>>93726132
Calling him by his name was also a big hint
>>
god tier suit design and his characterization was actually good.
>>
>>93718735
They made Flash a snobby rich kid instead of a jock
>>
>>93726442
To be fair most normies have no idea who the fuck Mack Gargan is supposed to be, even after he'd been Venom for years.
>>
>>93713605
The small scale as probably this movie's biggest quality. It just feels like such a breath of fresh air at this point in the MCU
>>
>>93726971
That is fair, hell, most people didn't even spot Tinker in the film even though it was obvious who he was supposed to be.
>>
>>93725830
This. It makes a lot of sense for Peter to ger his ass kicked in the final battle. He had never dealt with a threat that big before, not to mention without his suit he was relying 100% on his yet to be fully realized skills
>>
>>93718755
best iron man villain is like being the thinnest dude at fat camp, it's not something you brag about

also be best IM villain is ghost
>>
>>93718715
Not muh aside, anyone else liked Justin Hammer and Killian?
>>
>>93721978
He didn't want to have to kill Peter. He gave him a chance to walk away. Business is business.
>>
>>93725179
I think Tinkerer might be recurring across Marvel films.

Ultimate Scorpion was a hispanic guy and a villain of Miles Morales.

That along with Donald Glover as the Prowler seems like they're setting Miles up hard.
