What do you think of the Tea Sisters comics? What do you think about comics-for-girls in general?
>>93707994
They are so well written they can be enjoyed by anyone, save from those pesky "serious" adult people. You know, those one, who's lives consist of only work, raising children, alcohol, and occasional thought of suicide.
>>93708575
Whoever did the original character designs did a good job.
>>93708640
>never read
The only reason not to is if you're illiterate. But you made a post, so you cannot be.
>>93708764
No, it's just that every good children's book series should have an animated series based off it, and since there was already a Geronimo Stilton cartoon series, I just figured a spin-off series featuring these ladies, would be good, but don't get me wrong the comics are great
>>93708707
Eh. It just never really caught my interest past ogling those cutie sisters. I might read it someday, who knows.
I could do a storytime, but I only have the first four issues available which I've already storytimed on here years ago.
>>93709020
Okay, go for it
It's a lot slower than it used to be. Half of the post timer used to be removed when you attached an image. Now, it's once per minute.
>>93708836
>it's just that every good children's book series should have an animated series based off it
I get that you would like to have that, but don't say it's a rule or something. Besides, animation is not superior to comics.
>>93710086
I wasn't saying it like it was a rule, I was just stating my opinion, that's all
Should I bother finishing this?
>>93710313
This is super cute. It feels like an Archie comic.
I'd like to ask you to finish at least this issue, but I don't know how long it actually is.
>>93710533
It's about 50 pages.
These comics are nearly a decade old. They were Italian, but eventually translated and sold in English. There were four original comics.
The studio that translated them eventually made their own comics. Comics 5-8, I believe, with a 9th on the way. The art style isn't as good in those comics, and I've never storytimed them. Never found a download.
>>93710086
>Besides, animation is not superior to comics.
>>93711281
Comics are more likely to have great writing, and each panel can look better than a frame of animation. Comics are cheaper and quicker to make, so they have a better chance of being better.
BUT, they don't move or have sound. That's what only animation can do. But, since animation is so much more costly, you have to play it safer, and lower the standards of the art. Ever noticed why comics normally look more detailed? That is why – quality vs quantity.
Animation has sound and movement, while comics are more often better in the writing and art department. But neither medium is superior, greentext anon.
>>93711699
That doll looks pretty nonplussed about this.
I first storytimed one of these comics back in 2013. A few artists drew things in that thread. Mementos, static in time. I remember some guy tried to give the fandom a name - brodents - but the fandom didn't last. I made threads on-and-off over the years, but it never really took off.
That's the end of issue #2.
In addition to the comics, there are a number of legitimate children's books based on the franchise. The illustrations are quite nice in them, even if their literature is, clearly, lacking.
>>93712265
Good lecture, thanks Anon
>>93712246
Hello, pornfag.
Thanks for the little storytime, Anon
>>93712330
>>93712468
I agree with pornfag, but this is a legit decent story
I can only ever find scattered pages of the newer comics they made, but the art seems soulless to me. Their mouths all look identical to one another half of the time.
>>93715476
They seem to have outsourced to the wrong artists.
Still better than shit, as long as the writing is okay.
>>93707994
i once was at a good will and saw a whole bunch of theses comics there would have been like 2 bucks to get them always kinda regretted not picking them up
From this thread, it seems a little overreliant on characters overlapping frames and just a tad cluttered.
Otherwise it seems well made. Pretty refreshingly well composed and drawn compared to most comics with animal people.
Jesus fucking Christ look at these slutty mice.
>>93719148
They're just anime girls with goofy muzzles taped on, anon.
>>93719209
Yeeeeeeeees, keep telling yourself that...........
>>93708494
>who's lives consist of only work
*whose lives consist of only work
>>93707994
Furry shit? Furry shit.
> what about comics-for-girls
When its written as propaganda or with a chip on the author's shoulder, it's shit. But that's true for any "comics-for-______".
>>93720325
Thank you anon, I haven't used whose in YEARS.
>>93720456
....... for some reason the site remembered the image I selected hours ago...........
>>93719318
But that's how the artist drew them. Humans with lazy "animal" features attached.
There, now they are your regular anime girls.
Do you like them now, NOTfurry?
>>93721914
No, now they're trash.
>>93721914
They are still decent, but are now more generic.
Forgot I also did this.
>>93722528
Agreed
>>93723430
what is this real
>>93715476
I feel like I'm reading Archie Sonic.
Really surprised this thread is still up. I could storytime another one. Would people like #1, #3 or #4?
is there a mega for geronimo stilton?
>>93725200
I keep bumping this thread with comments since I'm trying to read it during slow minutes at work
>>93725212
I'm afraid issue #1 won't be ready for a while. I'll have to post issue #3. I always remembered this being the least interesting issue, but maybe other people will like it.

there's a finished version? News to me... do you have it?
>>93715476
the backgrounds are shit, too.
I'm afraid I have things to do soon. Posting Issue #1 will be a much, much slower burn. There may be big gaps between posts. Apologies for that.

Thanks for the storytime, anon.
Nicky, the red-headed Australian one, is my favorite character. Not sure how many are still reading along, but which one do you like the most?
>>93729251
And that's it for Issue #1. I don't think I have it in me to storytime Issue #4 today. If this thread somehow manages to stick around until tomorrow, I'll do it then, but I very much doubt it will.
The girls don't show up in the Geronimo Stilton cartoon, but Thea is in a majority of the episodes.
The first two seasons are on Amazon. Season three hasn't been released in English, to my knowledge.
>>93728274
They seem to be a fashion accessory. Pretty much everybody goes barefoot, but the soles of their feet are often depicted as shoe-like.
>>93729442
Never say never, anon.
>>93729480
That's the reason why there should be a spin-off show about the Thea Sisters
>>93729442
thanks for the storytime anon, enjoyable read tbqh
Eh. Why not?
Mice should not be this fuckable. I resisted Gadget, damnit!

That's the last one, of the final issue I have. I would storytime the new ones, if I was ever able to find them.
I'm not sure if anything will come from this, but I've storytimed these comics a number of times over the years and it's nice to keep these characters from being forgotten. Maybe somebody will draw something down the road, or post the comics themselves.
>>93736522
thank you OP
WIP:
For whatever reason, the newest comics don't seem to have been released digitally. This one was released in March, but I can't find an ebook version online, for example.
>>93736762
Your lines look familiar......
>>93736522
>if I was ever able to find them
Yeah, good luck with that, the same goes for the geronimo comics past #16. It's even worse for the books, too bad, some of them also have some pretty looking mice ladies
I see some more on Comixology, but with the newer art.
>>93737974
Not generally feeling like paying for them right now. Maybe I'll change my mind and storytime them in the future.
>>93740003
I still can't get around about how good the animation of the series is, what program did they use?
>>93730072
I see someone watched An American Tale
>>93740171
No way to know that! Most likely just good hand drawn 2D. A "program" can only improve your work so far.
>>93740965
I just remember reading somewhere that it was actually animated in flash, fucking impressive if true
>>93741345
Well, Flash used to be a tool that animates things for you, and makes it all cheap looking and crappy. Nowadays, Flash can be used for traditional animation, with some mild assistance.
>>93741480
Geronimo Stilton is a pretty old cartoon now.
>>93741509
Season 1 was made in 2008 unless I'm wrong. Flash was pretty advanced by that time already.
>>93740567
Is it not An American Tail?
>>93742703
The tail pun is one of the most overused, so reversing it makes it less unfunny.
>>93737310
It is by no other than Tove Jansson.

I remember this. This was from the Anthro Batman villains thread. That was fun.
>>93744516
Rodents are the best. That's a rat lady though, and honestly rats are far too rare as protagonists.
Mice are great (pic related) and so are rats.
>>93732540
Gadget is bottom tier when it comes tonicemice.
Basically every other /co/ rodent is better than Gadget.
>>93746027
cat people are infinitely better then mice people
>>93746197
>rats are far too rare as protagonists
Probably because of MUH PLAGUE

Nice, thread derailed.
Is this franchise big in Italy? I know it's Italian, but I wonder how popular these characters are.
http://www.ildiariodelleteasisters.it/
>>93752217
The main series Geronimo Stilton it's pretty popular in Italy and in some other countries in Europe. Given how the thea sisters are just part of a series of spin offs I would say that kind of but not as big as the principal
>>93744401
Have you praised Moomin today?
>>93736762
Keep going.
Why are mice the best?
Geronimo Stilton has a number of comics, some made by the same company. The art on them isn't as good as the Thea Stilton ones. I've always liked the pirate cats, but I don't know how often they actually show up.
>>93756173
I would say that the art is on par with the Thea Stilton just that in Geronimo the artists tend to express the characters in a more cartoony way
>I've always liked the pirate cats, but I don't know how often they actually show up
Have you read them? They are the reason why the comic happens in first place
>>93756324
I've not read the Geronimo Stilton comics. I've only skimmed through them.

>>93760353
Nicky's still the best one. I trust you don't disagree?
How old are they supposed to be? From the school, I'd guess mid-to-late teens but Dina is engaged to that fisherman, who seems well into his twenties.
>>93760717
If I recall they go to mouseford academic (that acts kind like a university) so might as well they are in their early twenties
>>93760378

>What do you think about comics-for-girls
Most of us came to Thea Stilton by way of Geronimo so it's more like extended Duckverse canon than a gender shift.
>>93770367
I don't know. I think most of the people who like these characters have never read a Geronimo Stilton book/comic or watched the cartoon. At least in these threads.
>>93771369
Those are the works waifufags. Reminds me of a FF9 thread on /v/.
>I never played FF9, but I really like Freya, she is such a great character........
Yes, "great character". Just admit her character design makes your penis cry, and fuck off.

>Mice have hair
>Mice have human names
>Mice have human-like proportions
>Mice somehow made the same countries as us like Tanzania
>>93773219
Why is that a problem?
>>93707994
Only reason I care about Stilton is because I occasionally fap to the chubby guy. Girls are disgusting.
>>93707994
So which series is more popular? The Geronimo Stilton series or the Thea Sisters series?
I ask because Geronimo has had a cartoon for a few years now and they still haven't introduced the Thea Sisters. I get the feeling they aren't very popular, otherwise the show would have brought them in by now.
>>93774780
You could at least be a man and lust after Benjamin.
>>93773219
And don't forget all the cheese pun names, as well the fact that they have fictional nations like mouse island which capital it's New mouse city which is pretty much New York, and there's also a New York.
And don't forget that there's also cats in this world, which somehow have contries in their own (at least enough to have an "empire") and despite tbeing in the 21 century the rulers still dress like pirates and use wooden ships.
>>93774837
>So which series is more popular?
Definitely Geronimo, the thea sisters are just seen as the "girl series" or just another spin off of the universe
>I ask because Geronimo has had a cartoon for a few years now and they still haven't introduced the Thea Sisters
And they probably will never be, the series barely uses anything of the books, maybe some plots or characters but after that it's 100% original
>>93774970
>liking shota.
The superior option is incest shipping Geronimo and Trap.
>>93710911
First ducks then rats.
I'm starting to get suspicious of Italy and their furry waifus.
>>93774780
>Girls are disgusting
what are you, 8 years old
>>93775140
If you're going incest, Geronimo and Thea is superior. Even a gay man should admit that.
>>93774780
>chubby
Fucking disgusting. Fat fetishists are the worst.
>>93775480
Objectively wrong, brocon is as crappy as it gets when it comes to incest. The vanilla flavor of incest, boring af.

>>93778854

>>93780202
Pandora was named Bugsy Wugsy in the original materials. In the cartoon, they changed her name to Pandora Woz.
