I think it's one of those few 'American cartoon tries to do anime' type of shows that absolutely nails it.
Chiro's design in particular, specifically in his hero outfit, is fucking great. It just hits all the right notes.

Yeah, it doesn't try to make "anime" a joke. It sticks to a pretty heavy plot, wears its references on its sleeve without being too *wink wink* about them, and most of all is just generally good.

The name is kind of dumb which I think scares people off, but its really an overlooked gem of modern cartoons.

I loved it as a kid.
one of my strongest memories of this show was an episode where there was a man who slowly replaced all his organs with machines or something don't remember much just that it happened (also if anyone knows which episode it is i would appriciate the name of it) )

Ahh, that's Lord Scrapperton. He's a gentleman who becomes obsessed with collecting machines after he loses a limb and starts 'upgrading' himself.

I remember it being weirdly depressing as a kid, probably the first cartoon that I'd watched that didn't shy away from having some tragedy.

I remember liking it, and I've been meaning to re-watch it for a while, but I still haven't gotten around to it.
