Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if the film ends in a funeral, as they confirmed that the second Spider-Man film starts minutes after Avengers 4 ends.

I don't see Tony dying because RDJ loves the character too much (just look at his Instagram) and Iron man is what propped him up and saved his career.

He has too much fun doing the character not to mention his recent non-Marvel films haven't been successful.

If anything he'll end up taking short roles in the movies like Homecoming or using his presence and star power to promote other films, but he'll continue.

I don't think they are going to replace Steve, the Captain America title will most likely be retired since in the movies it wasn't something that was handed down to another person and everyone knows Steve Rogers is Captain America.

Pretty sure the shield will get broken in the fight with Thanos (like in Tony's dream) or it will get lost in space.

Honestly I hope at some point it ends up in the hands of the Ravagers it's obvious they are going to end up having their own movie ( since Gunn said they were going to be very important characters to the Marvel universe) maybe they end up bumping into a lost NASA astronaut named Vance Astro and he ends up getting it.

One of the original Guardians of the Galaxy storylines involved them going on a quest to find Captain America's shield, and they end fighting a bad guy who has it because he thought the shield had powers.

Ever since Feige removed Marvel Studios from Marvel Entertainment, the comic people have no clue to what Marvel Studios plans.

I mean Bendis killed Rhodey in CWII because he needed a death in the event and he thought the Civil War movie was going to kill Rhodey (and IIRC people speculated that was going to happen from some stills that were released) but then Civil War didn't and yeah...

And Bendis used to have access to the movie scripts since he was in the creative committee.

This is from an Empire Article from 2013 where the interviewer asked him how much longer he was going to stick around as Iron Man

If they show a character's possible death in a trailer, then it's not an actual death. The fact that Bendis didn't even know that is telling of how bad he is at this.

Yeah, essentially, but RDJ is literally incapable of releasing a dud as Tony Stark. Even if IM3 was the worst of the three, he and his performance was FAR from the problem.

So the only other option is basically just him getting old, and Keanu's still doing John Wick at 52 (also Downey's age) and RDJ's facebook page is pretty much exclusively Iron Man/Marvel stuff from tumblr with an occasional live-feed of his son's band, so he's still having just enough fun to go into Phase 4.

Really hoping that if he does an Iron Man 4, it ends with him becoming Director of a new S.H.I.E.L.D. and he just plays supporting roles from then on. His role in Homecoming felt like the perfect acceptable volume of Downey in another hero's movie.

I'm in if it's some sort of world war hulk scenario but with Thanos and the blacked order raping the avengers on national tv.

All I want is a scene where Spider-Man of all people is the only one who manages to hold his own against Thanos for a bit. A moment that shows just how dangerous and potent Spidey's powerset is when he stops holding back.

This. Cap and Tony are going to resolve their differences with a heroic sacrifice team-up. Subsequent Avengers movies will revolve around Spidey trying to get together the New Avengers and being adorably inept at doing so.

They have definitely become a little bolder since Ike and the CC left (Gunn, the Russo's, Derickson, Coogler, Waititi are all based).

Ragnarok and Panther look hugely promising, and even Sony couldn't shit up Homecoming. I hope Infinity War can succeed as spectacle but above all as a story with characters.

If Scarlet Witch really does wield Chaos Magic, god that would be one fucking crazy awesome fight. Holy shit.

Thor's non-hammer powers in Ragnarok might possibly give us a clue on that front.
