Because he's been written strong as fuck recently, almost to a status where his mere appearance is built up and made to be a big deal.

Aside from hating Aquaman he's an efficient and intelligent killin machine that knows how to get under your skin. He doesn't do bullshit stuff that makes people yell about plot armor and his suit gives enough protection to be an adequate threat to Aquaman. That and he's not overused so when he shows up you know shits going to go down.
