ITT Characters you loved prior to reading comics but hate once

I was excited to see that Ms.Marvel got a promotion. I loved her new costume. I was excited to read these new Captain Marvel runs.

Boy this was one of my biggest disappointments in comics.

I've saw images of him and thought he looked cool and I liked his appearances in JL. I wanted to know more about him and he massively disappointed.

Everyone likes the IDEA of "the Green Lantern who's super creative and an artist who loves manga and japanimation just like me, unlike all those old farts who just make gloves and beams and baseball bats and he literally IS WILLPOWER ITSELF and the strongest ever!" It sounds great on paper.

Then you read his stories and realize he's an editorially mandated poochie who fucked over much better characters and the line's entire premise for 90s powerlevel wank.

It's kind of funny how Barry and Hal's situation are the reverse of each other.

Speaking as a 49 year old who read all the Bronze age stuff growing up and remembers Barry, fuck Barry. Wally was a much more interesting character and earned a lot more of what he was. Barry went out like a hero in CoIE and came back a continuity ruining little bitch.

Loved her in the cartoon and TV show. Now after reading her stuff? Yeah.... I'm beginning to wonder what the hell made me like the character at all.

She works as the first but she loses her novelty, DC needs to just let her be crippled. She's in her mid to late 20s yet she's still Batgirl. Like seriously Barbara shouldn't be Batgirl when Dick is Nightwing, Tim is Red Robin, and Jason is Red Hood.
