Hater is fucking amazing, it's raw power personified, but he gets distracted easily and is often brought down by his own complexes to a point its almost self sabotage.

When Hater is played straight he is amazing and it does pay off spectacularly, the other villain that got "wanderized" was no slouch either but Hater actually gets to showcase his full power in a very satisfying way.

He somewhat has a character outside of being a love interest, slightly impacts the plot of the movie and there is a tiny amount of chemistry between him and purple horse human as opposed to absolutely zero chemistry with the lazy love interest.

It has the stupid love at first sight bullshit but it at least feels like they pretended to give a shit. Not quite as insulting, but waitfufags still hate him.

Tai Lung is an amazing fighter, but he is entirely by-the-books. He defeats the Futious Five and Shifu because he knows their techniques far better than they do, or in Shifu's case as much but is stronger and faster (not to mention Shifu hesitated).
Po was a perfect counter because he improvises. He knows the basics and he knows the main techniques, but he adds his own spin to them. Tai Lung's opponents have always been fighters trained traditionally, whereas Po has developed his own personality first, then learned later. Tai Lung never fought someone off the cuff before, so he didn't know how to handle it.

Tigress, for example, is a better counter to Po, because her techniques, while aggressive, usually come off as more defensive than Tai Lung's, which means Po has to try first. Po is best when he is countering his opponent, such as Lung or Shen.
