There could be something to the fact Moon was so eager to send Star away, either to St. Olga's or Earth, after Star got the wand and turned 14. Possibly if Star really was linked to the Darkest Spell in some way, she was attempting to have her either avoid the upcoming consequences of this connection or delay the inevitable by removing her from Mewni, until Toffee's return made that impossible.

While I don't know the specifics of any of the popular theories, I do think there might be something to the general idea. Moon takes Star to an isolated place to tell her something about why she made the deal with Eclipsa and presumably its consequences, apparently preventing her from leaving until she's told her what she needs to, and we see a shot in the promo of Star being covered in some sort of black slime.

Maybe something is going on to the effect of "[I had to do this because] Toffee had killed my mother." "This" being involving her future daughter in the fallout from the Darkest Spell.

So an anon, and myself came up with the theory back in December of last year. Which the original theory is pic related. So the theory has evolved a bit over the last 6 months, but the core remains the same. Which are the main following points.

>The Blood Moon signifies a about a big event most likely the end of times/days i.e. Dies Irae

The saying here is major point of this

Basically this might be saying Star is taken by Eclipsa per the "deal" and Moon is sacrificed.

There's also quite a bit more biblical references such as the Tree of Knowledge during the epsisode Baby.

So the obvious spell phase "To blackest night, I pledge my soul, and crush my heart" we get this pic from episodes back, and what I got out of it.

>Right before Eclipsa's chapter we have the snake hands, and Moon's diamonds seen in the upper left of pic, while the next page is the bottom left showing a giant Star with monster and possibly darker symbols all over it. We know this is the next page due to official parts shown in the upper and bottom right of my pic. Before this page we also saw Eclipsa's Spade as seen in upper left of pic, but within it seems to be a eclipse. Possibly showing Moon's pledging her soul to darkness as heard in her spell. In the Star page we also see this symbolism in the upper right hand side. With the new teaser you also get this in this form the handshake deal.

The reason I make a big deal of that Star is Star's wand is the only wand in the butterfly family with a literal Star on it, and this page from the book has a giant Star. I think the page symbolizes Star's birth in a sense as well as Moons pact with Darkness to defeat Toffee in the form of physical Star.

Butterfly family cheek symbols also seem to be in a cycle of rebirths. Going off this, Moon knew Heart was next so she literally crushed it to darkness. Moon's Darkest Spell might of been selling her soul, and sacrificing her first born to defeat Toffee.

Also something to take into account is that purple seems to be associated with dark/evil magic. Star's Mewberty form is purple. As seen with the purple entity making a deal with Moon

Mewberty is at the core the most powerful/wild form of a butterfly family member. So maybe it draws her inner darkness out? As well as the fact that the purple entity/spell tainted her through Moon? I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am. All this time, all these details, these symbols, I thought they would be part of something great and epic, a revelation of the true meaning of SVTFoE. But all this time it was just another rendition of TVTropes reductionism.

If the themes of two works are not connected then it doesn't matter if the motiffs are the same. Hi I just watched the goblin dog episode after not watching any star for a while and I'm so happy. They really figured out what they're doing with the show. The Dies Irae thing is called that because some random anon tried to see if there was a thread to the symbolism in the show after they aired a commercial with the song/chant, "Dies Irae". There is no actual proposed endgame or conclusion to it. It's just a collection of symbolism that essentially goes, Star is probably the Forces of Evil, and related to Venus in some way, Marco is Mars (Correct), Blood Moon isn't good, will probably cause them to fight. It's not some grand unifying theory to predict the endgame, and those who thought it was are silly literalists.

Okay yeah Solaria the Monster Carver was def Moon's mother and the one Toffee killed, and probably went too far with her monster carving past a certain point.

Was expecting it to be a character we haven't seen yet, but I rechecked her page from the guidebook. No family relation listed anywhere (unless that's contradicted elsewhere in the book), and the page makes a big show of Star being like WHAT I NEVER HEARD OF HER in her commentary along the side.

I mean it's not a definite who it'll be but it seems to fit. Also explains why they made a point of showing her in the room; in fact I think there may be a reason behind the specific order of queens shown in Into the Wand: maybe all are involved, in the order presented in the episode, in the events leading up to the Mewman-Monster Accord conflict:

>Solaria (sliced up monsters, eventually got killed by Toffee)
>Eclipsa (Moon then made a deal with her)
>Moon (Darkest Spell then happened)

At least it seems unlikely Moon's mother was totally the victim here, if they're trying to go for Toffee having a legitimate motivation, so she seems like a decent candidate.

So I rechecked the tapestries to make sure I hadn't massively screwed up because I remembered Solaria's tapestry shows an asteroid or something hitting one of the moons, probably leaving it with the ring of debris encircling it in the present. If that's in any others, then obviously Solaria has to be farther back on the timeline than Moon's mother. So:

>Celena and Eclipsa are in stylized backgrounds that don't seem to literally depict the sky over Mewni, and even if they were you can't see that moon anyway
>Festivia and the rabbit queen are shown in front of undamaged moons; for Festivia specifically all are visible, putting her definitively ahead of Solaria
>Moon's doesn't show the entire sky but has to be the most recent, so
>Skywynne could be where I fucked up, since there's something shown in the background that might be the damaged moon, though it could also be a stylized star since there are a few of those and other space-looking objects in her tapestry too

So I think it could possibly still be Solaria, or else it is someone we've never heard of because I misjudged how long ago Solaria lived. If Skywynne came after her then I think Moon's mother was an unknown character.

Skywynne is sometimes thought to be Moon's mother, but Star's description seems less deliberately mysterious than what Solaria and Moon herself got-- even pretty knowledgeable compared to what she knows of other queens-- so I don't think so. Also Moon and Skywynne being pictured together doesn't tell us anything, as Celena and Eclipsa are also shown together, Celena first, despite Eclipsa being known to be several generations older.

So...maybe she could be, maybe not. Hard to tell what's going on with Skywynne.

I doubt it, it seems like Solaria had her own Monster War to deal with and it was way bigger than the most recent one. Plus, the story in her tapestry pretty strongly implies that she herself successfully defended the castle.

The point of that seems to be less specifically about Solaria and more about Star mentioning that Moon never told her about any of the old Queens, except Celena and "Soupina the Strange."

It's not impossible, but I don't think it's what they're planning.
It seems like there was some kind of negotiations going on between Mewmans and monsters before Moon's mother got killed.
We hardly know anything about Solaria's personality but she definitely doesn't seem the type to try to forge some negotiated peace, even as a trap/double-cross.

Not true. We only know that Celena was Star's great-great-grandmother and Eclipsa is her ninth great-grandmother.
All the other Queens are referred to as grandma/great-grandma ambiguously by Star and Glossaryck. Star herself clearly doesn't know who her grandmother was, because Moon never told her about any of the Queens but Celena and Soupina.
Glossarcyk refers to Dirhhennia as Star's grandmother the very page before referring to Skywynne the same way.

Star's writing about her to me does seem similar to how other significant stuff in the book is approached, so I do think she might have done something relevant even if not Moon's mother-- maybe a queen who'd done shit to monsters recently enough for it to still be a big deal at the time Moon was Star's age.

She just seems more likely to be relevant somehow than other known non-Eclipsa/Moon queens, because she was introduced in an episode and seems to have been presented as more mysterious to Star in the book than some others.

I can't really tell if Moon's is supposed to be in front of the same moon or just so close to a random one you can't see any others. It seems like there are usually three and if that's the case Festivia lived before Solaria, but there might be more.

Moon's plaque has stars on it as well, which may be evidence for the theory of Star being somehow connected to the spell.

There's at least three, the usual set of the huge moon and its two smaller partners. I don't expect that much consistency with stuff like that, especially since the tapestries are clearly artistic depictions in-universe (Eclipsa almost certainly didn't have her wand or Glossaryck with her after she ran away, for example).

It's hard to put the Queens in any real order with so little information, but I'd say Festiva is almost definitely the oldest with her Greco-Roman aesthetic.
I feel like Solaria's also pretty far back, maybe not older than Eclipsa but her tapestry has a very strong "mythic/epic" vibe to it, with the apocalyptic background and the gigantic monsters that definitely don't seem to be around anymore. Like it's showing Mewni's equivalent of "the Age of the Gods" where titans roamed and the land was even more savage and mysterious than it is now.

That's what I mean, it's just dependent on whether he's working or not and that's it. We don't know his schedule so we can't plan around it.

Tapestries like Eclipsa's/Celena's seen like the most like obvious artistic depictions, just general attempts at capturing how those queens were perceived, while something like Moon's/Solaria's could be an attempt at accurately representing an event. Depends on how closely the Moon backstory follows what's shown in the tapestry. In that case though there does seem to be a dividing line between the moon's appearance before and after, unless that's also artistic liberty.

Festivia's name also seems to place her before others, though it's also possible some queens' names don't fit into the theme rather than them just beginning the celestial name pattern after a certain point. But yeah, most tapestries could go pretty much anywhere without official confirmation.
