Could be Interesting for for IW & GOTG3 we see the Guardians as more an established peace keeping group in the universe rather than just a ragtag team of outlaws, more actually like the Avengers in that they're an organization, and the for GOTG3 we see all of that crumble.

Or the reverse, that the GotG became an official thing and that meant members can now come and go as the story requires, and that meant you no longer need all the same cast in the same film.

That's what I like. The Guardians in Infinity War won't be the same as in GotG 2 due to the big time gap, and Nebula's crusade against Thanos will be well into play.
