Being a brooding loner isn't the same as Ditko's interpretation. Ditko's Peter was one bad day away from becoming a villain.

that's bullshit man. There's a lot of teens today that have to take care of their aging parents and relatives, and it sucks. That's a core theme of spidey that many young kids could relate to today. Ditko's Spider-Man characterization has been watered down over the years. I agree, part of what makes that run so great is the dynamic tension between Stan Lee writing Spidey as a quippy, fun adventurer and Ditko's Peter being a selfish, self-interested anti-social weirdo. It's a goddamn masterpiece and Lee's half has, understandably, become the dominant version over the years, with Peter being a sweet, well-meaning sad sack instead of a borderline sociopath.
>>
>>93606138
Plus, we will never get a Ditko-style Spider-Man movie. Peter stays pretty unlikeable for most of Ditko's time on the book, with the villains and JJJ providing great foils for Peter. But mainstream audiences can't handle that kind of subtlety. Peter Parker will be locked in the Lee/Romita, Stern, Bendis-mold in media for the rest of time. (Not to say those aren't good runs, but the Ditko stuff's on a whole other level of art.)
>>
I think it looks good
>>
How did Spider-Man get to the point where being an annoying spaz is "In character"? Everything in that video feels like it's written by a 14 year old girl. Always this Peter's looking up to the Avengers and being a "Good boy" shit. I really want the rest of the MCU to be Spider-Man getting his shit punched in. God, what a spaz.

Why did people stop using the word spaz?
>>
It's kinda dumb but leaving a webbed device to register the shit he's doing IS part of the character, I guess.

Cameras are outdated so it has to be a video.
>>
>>93606966
>What is a selfie

Ditko Flash was barely physical anyway. He pushed Peter occasionally, challenged him to a boxing match, got pissy about Liz flirting, and tried to pull dumb pranks.
>>
>>93600356
Peter's first instinct upon losing Ben is LITERALLY "I should rob a bank!" He constantly had mad scientist internal monologues and misconstrued people trying to socialize with him as bullying.

Aunt May, his guilt complex birthed from James and Mary's death, and Ben's values are the only reason Peter isn't a villain, and he's nearly gone over the edge several times.
>>
>Stark/May confirmed.

love it.
>>
>>93606138
Part of that is how it's framed, part of it is him growing up. Portraying Peter as a rather sweet, kindly and socially awkward child is accurate: it's an implicit part of his initial characterization and the reason why people interact with him. Modern writers and audiences just neglect the selfish, ignorant part of this mindset. He had it even up into the 80s and 90s, where he mumbled a proposal to MJ with a pack of M&MS and took a month to realize "WAIT, HOW DOES MY WIFE FEEL WHEN I'M AWAY 24/7?"
