/co/nrades, what are some of the most influential animated films, shows, or moments in general in your opinions?
I'll start with some of the basics and my own opinions.
>Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, the first full length animated feature
>Flintstones, did quite a lot for a animated primetime show. Including a couple sleeping in the same bed and Betty's infertility.
>Kappa Mikey, one of the first shows to use flash animation
>Toonami, introduced anime to the west.
>Toy Story, first 3D animated film.
>Shrek, put Dreamworks on the map as Disney's first big rival
Feel free to debate and hate.
The Simpsons. Also Beavis and Butthead.

Simpsons and South Park showed the animated genres potential in being adult oriented and not just for kids
I could also say Newgrounds and youtube to some extent. As they both were pretty groundbreaking for Internet Animation along with Homestar Runner.
Another is The first Rugrats Movie, as it was the first non-disney film to break over 100 million dollars at the box office.
Bump, hoping an actual discussion would happen.

Didn't Akira bring serious attention for the first time to the Japanese productions in the west?
Beauty and the Beast for establishing digital animation and getting that Oscars nomination
Also i'd say it was Prince of Egypt that made Dreamworks relevant first
>Bambi, first animated movie with a female animator
>101 Dalmation introducing the xerox technology to save money and saving the disney studios
>Who Framed Roger Rabbit which sparked a new interest in animation and made the Disney Renaissance possible
so sad no one on /co/ actually cares about animation

>Toonami, introduced anime to the west

Not ragging on Akira, but I think anime would've gotten big one way or another. It was only a matter of time.
