I always wondered why Deathstroke was called 'Slade' in Teen Titans. I think it's his first name, but Slade sounds lame compared to Deathstroke.
It also doesn't help that it reminds me of the 70s glam rock band also named Slade.

Bad guy with "Death" in the name might trigger some of the more oversensitive parents. I always found it funny how a recurring mystery was Robin trying to find out "Who is Slade?" when that was his actual name and a Google search could've probably sufficed.
