Looking back it's kind of ridiculous what a dead zone Earth is. Not even that I hate all the characters there; I just don't actually give a fuck if most are never seen again even if in general they worked okay in their appearances.

I think a sort-of problem with the show, that it does a good job of hiding, is that few of the locations really feel like they have much substance because the locations themselves seem rarely focused on. Like the actual story/plot action/characters all distract from the fact that the locations don't have much character on their own, outside of occasional places like the monster temple where they try for some atmosphere.

Mewni at least has more of that kind of character than all the other non-settings and hopefully in 3 it can feel more like an actual place.

Guys? ... I want to apologize. For last thread, I mean. I was in a bad place. All those terrible, soul-crushing posts? They were all me. I get that way, sometimes. I sometimes wonder if I should get a psychiatric evaluation, given that my mom has bipolar disorder and my dad has a history of schizophrenia, and I know I've had instances of both, but I'm so scared that if I take that medication, I won't ever feel so close to these cartoon characters that have a place in my heart. In Season 3 we'll get more of it, maybe her wings will have grown bigger or she'll attempt to tap into it with some success, and then in 4 she'll use and fight with it for real. I think they'll set it up to some extent before it really happens, considering they even did that with Moon.

Don't think Moon can totally teach her so much as it may be something that she'd learn naturally. Given that there'd be kind of a time issue as things in Mewni get worse, though, plus Star's advanced magic skill, she might be able to perform it at a younger age than Moon/the age it typically becomes possible.

I hate the "lol huge wings pop out in climactic moment" cliché people have wanted since Mewberty, and I think Star on Wheels dealt with that to some extent by showing her wings at a non-dramatic moment. So when it happens it might be played as a surprise, but it won't be while falling because they did that already. Maybe she'll be in a fight and then suddenly henshin sequence.

Going by Moon's appearance, Star will probably look a bit different than she did in Mewberty when she can go Butterfly for real.

Yeah, she was clearly jealous about all the attention Star gets just through being herself, while everyone who comes to her party just did so for the social aspect and not because they actually enjoyed it.

Problem is I don't think she was ever a great character or even necessary for this show, and so I'm not bothered by her not showing up much. A character who's defined by insecurity/jealousy toward the protagonist while also being in an antagonistic role gets sort of depressing in a comedy when you know they won't ever meaningfully win-- hell, even Ludo in S1 sort of had that feel at times, but at least the plot offered an actual opportunity for them to change that a bit.
