The reason Rick is miserable is because he lacks the greater knowledge of moving past the teenage phase of how nothing we do impacts the universe. No fucking shit, retard. We all figured this out when we were 17.

He's not a tortured soul. He's not self loathing. He's self aggrandizing to the point that he thinks what's alienating him is this oh-so-special knowledge that only he 'gets' that nobody else can understand. Here's what separates Rick from everyone else: Everyone else discovered that something that doesn't have an impact on EVERYTHING doesn't mean that you have no impact on ANYTHING and drawing a retarded conclusion like NOTHING has meaning just because somethings you do have no meaning to everything. Everyone else knows this. Rick doesn't. He pretends that unless you have total relevancy and control over everything, that there is no meaning anywhere in anything. It's the most juvenile mindset and it's why most children move past it. It's understandable when a child or young adult questions this. When a fully grown adult never moves past it, then it's a sign of stunted emotional and intellectual growth.

That is DANGEROUS for religion. You are not suppose to doubt, you are suppose to assume everything you read in a book is real. If you are allowed to read a book that isn't real, you will doubt the truthfulness of holy texts. Thts is why there are "Christian film Review" sites that dictate which films are sufficently "christian" to be safe to watch. Because if you watch unsafe films you might start to have doubts. Same with Pokemon, or Harry Potter, or Marvel comics.
