How come no one has had a hit on The Joker? Everyone in Gotham

Maybe for the same reason they still didnt put him in an eletric chair. Plot convenience.

For the billionth time, Joker's immunity is meta. Fucker sells, so he won't die, but he should have long ago.

An in-universe answer could be that he got away and back from so, so much stupid shit that nobody actually wants to risk it

Has there ever been a mob justice story on him where they drag him out and kill him? That could be interesting, but obviously his death wouldn't last.

Actually, one of the BTAS comics was about that. The mayor's son was killed by the Joker, so he puts out a public hit on him. Batman hides Joker in the Batcave and the city tears itself apart trying to find him.

Ultimately, Batman takes Joker to the mayor himself and tells him that if he wants Joker dead, he should do it himself or call off the hit. The mayor ultimately can't bring himself to do it, so he calls off the hit.

Ignoring the obvious Joker plot armor bullshit, lets look at the idea of taking a contract within Gotham: Its just not worth the money most of the time. Hell Lawton does a considerable price hike whenever hes forced to go there because of the Bat problem. Not to mention the place is an absolute shithole with crazies running around where any number of things can happen; anywhere from getting killed by a completely unrelated assailant, or getting double crossed by the guy who hired you

The guy is so random that everything you do will go against you. Yes, he's that random. Thats why he's my fave character. His powers is being so random but it'll never affect him negatively, despite claiming to be the god of randomness. Also he's such a nihilist with a wicked sense of humour

From what I can tell, when it comes to the people of Gotham, Batman expects them to be better because he wants to believe that Gotham isn't a cursed city that's incapable of change.

That doesn't account for why he doesn't have harsher punishment for people like Joker that refuse to change, but eh.
