Yes, the Canadian identity is at risk of being dissolved into the American identity.
That's why the CRTC exists, to put up barriers to ward off American media and try to protect and nurture the Canadian identity.

Hatred of Cancon laws was always there but has now reached a boiling point due to the Internet, so they will not be allowed to continue. Most Canadians see nothing wrong with joining the American media ecosystem anyways. And other policies like net neutrality will be dictated by what the US decides.
