Was he actually a good version of Batman or is that just what hipsters and boomers say?
What is your definition of good?
What is your definition of hipster?
/tv/ has enough of a foothold here that these questions must unfortunately be asked.
Adam West wasn't just a campy superhero.
He was THE campy superhero. Yes, it was a good version of Batman.

you can do better than Adam West playing the batman.
you can do worse than Adam West playing the batman.
you can NEVER be Adam West as the batman.

Circa the early 60's when the show was made, the Batman comics throughout the fifties were campy, bright, and colorful.
Adam West was exactly like what Batman was in that era.
In fact, the show burning out contributed to Batman being revamped in the comic books.

Hipsters don't care about that Batman, 80s nostalgiafags running websites do.
He's the best example of Batman meaning many things to many people. It's a very optimistic version of batman
He was exactly what Batman was at the era. so yes. he was a good batman.
>>93412248
He's the best representation of a certain era of Batman, specifically the Silver Age.
No other representation of Batman captured any one era so perfectly as Adam West and his show did for the Silver Age.

Bale and the 2000's
He was a good Batman that added another side to the character. It was close to parody but made the public aware of him and subsequently respect him as a more genuine hero. Adam west was a great Batman
He's pretty much the Batman from the mid to late 40s. Smiles, has a special police badge, explains his ideas in great detail to robin.

Bale was only pretty good, as the contemporary comics didn't really try to go as hardcore realism as the Nolanverse Batman movies went
Batman '66 is still the most fluid and enjoyable representation of a specific era
Beyond just West's Batman, I have to say I liked Alan Napier's Alfred, Cesar Romano's Joker, Burgess Meredith's Penguin, and Burt Ward's Robin.

>80s nostalgia for a 60s show
Really jogs the noggin
>>93413353
Don't forget Frank Gorshin's Riddler.
>>93413581
They reran the fuck out of it during the 80s
>>93413604
OH yeah, he was great too.
>>93413353
>Beyond just West's Batman
I fucking hope we some day get a Batman 66 Beyond.
>>93413623
Well heck, where I live they were running them into the late 1990s. I don't know if that was a "90s thing" or a "Canada thing".

He was good. He could even do serious Batman when he wanted, but fun Batman is all I ever desired. Westman was always best Batman, even before he died.
>>93412929
>antman low
>doctor strange above it
Wasnt antman the underdog darling of mcu?
>>93412248
Hipsters are too busy jerking themselves off to gritty realistic Batman. They would never pretend to like 66 Batman.
To this day, there has never been a Batman who perfectly encapsulated the character in his respective era better than Adam West. He wouldn't have revived interest in the character if he wasn't good at what he did.

>green lantern not below satanic tier
>>93413848
90s thing. I lived in California and I watched it every morning before school.
>>93412929
That's actually a good list
Both he and Burt Ward did great. The show saved the entire Batman franchise which was floundering in comics and about to get canceled
>>93412929
was wolverine origins really that bad?
>>93413353
And all the catwomen.
christ, I would fuck any of them.
>>93414252
It's good in a retarded funny shit sense.
>>93412929
Civil War was crap
Putting Iron Man 2 in the same tier as Suicide Squad is stupid and so are you for doing it
>>93414359
I don't know about that. Maybe with friends and you're all really drunk. Like, can't remember the Deadpool ending because of black-out drunk.
>>93414252
It's so terrible it ends up looping back into enjoyable shlock
>>93412929
Switch Antman and Dr. Strange >>93413943
>People hate Thor 1
Why? It was cool. Getting Kenneth Branagh to direct capeshit was one of those big moments of optimism for the MCU.
It deserves to be mid tier, come on.
>>93412929
>Hellboy below Hellboy II
Hi, /tv/.
>>93412929
>>93412248
If you grew up on it then you'll always enjoy it.
If you first see it as an adult you'll find it campy and funny and probably want watch episodes more than once
If you are an edgy teen or manbaby then you'll probably think it's the worst shit ever ad never understand why a lot of people like it.
>>93412929
Switch dark knight and winter soldier with DoFP and Superman 2, Civil war with thor and batman forever with spiderman 3 and now we're talking
