Apparently they got in trouble for having basically nothing but white guys on the writing staff, so they hired like 5-6 women and I think a couple of minority writers as well to do the writing for Season 3. And it's been nothing but drama and delays ever since.

The season was originally supposed to air in March or April IIRC, then they did delayed it to May 20th, now I think it's set for end of July and even that's kind of up in the air.
