Give Superior Iron Man another try. No Inversion this time. The current Stark is revealed to be a Skrull or some shit, and the REAL Stark comes back from being stuck in space. So everything Post-Fraction becomes non-canon.

Anyway, Tony comes back and he's PISSED. He takes everything from ReeRee and files a suit. He uncovers that the adoption thing was a ruse by a time-travelling Arno, so he BTFOs him. He gets to work on making Stark Industries Great Again. He restarts the Troy project and creates a super-utopia. He cuts ties with the Avengers and sets up his own team of Stark-Sponsored Heroes, the Thunderbolts, which are reformed criminals. He tells Captain Dyke off and has Eric O'Grady spy on her. He plans asks Good Guy Doom to help him bring Rhodey back and Victor becomes a supporting cast member.

That's as far as I've gone, but cold & arrogant Tony deserves another chance.

Interesting or not, there's no way they'd ever portray a Capitalist as a hero these days. Hell, just look at Superior Iron Man. In the first issues, eh never did anything wrong. He sold an app. He sold perfection. It came around to 3k per month. Lots of money for the blue colar worker, sure, but not an obscene amount. Sure, he was a jerk. Sure, maybe it was a dick move. But it was within his rights. He didn't steal anything from anybody.

Tony Stark

The Hologram/AI is going to go bad. So make it go bad creatively.

Have it cut ties with Riri leaving her floundering. Recreate Stark Industries. Building the city of the Future. The AI buys up a bunch of Land in some country with a lot of empty space. Australia, Russia, Brazil or some African country.

Then recruits local super humans, creating a team to police his super city. All of them get his tech to augment their powers.

He also creates a police force using parts of his gear.

But the AI is degrading until it suddenly shuts down. The City of the future suddenly has no leader with all those with power feuding. The leader of the Super team takes control. However he or she is opposed by factions in his team, the Worker Co-ops, the Police force and the country that is hosting the city. The city turns to civil war, while the city as a whole falls apart without the AI administration. The Avengers intervene, but one of the factions activate the Invasion buster. A defense grid to fend off any attacks by Inhumans, Thanos, Mutants or whoever else would try invade. This traps a million people and all the factions inside the city, with resources running out.

No, really.


A good Lizard with the good Doc Connors personality who battles villains by day, only to turn into a Doc Connors with the Lizard's personality who is a deranged serial killer by night. Throws in some more dynamic for his character. Now he can finally use his powers for good, while having to live with the fact that his human body is now being used for more horrors and he can no longer be Connors any more. For the first time in his life, Doctor Connors wants to be the Lizard. He has to. You could even throw in a story with SHIELD and Spidey trying to bring him in and he fights them by trying to convince them that "No, really. The Lizard is the good guy now! Doctor Connors is the evil one!"

I think a personality body swap with two minds in the same body would be a cool take on the Superior story, and would be something they haven't done before.
