So...it's a Spider-Man team up book?
>>

Definetely better than whole post Spock Slott's run.
So Spider-Man goes back to not so smart level again?

Eeeeh

Oh right she exists
>>

That was good. Best spidey issue in awhile
>>
Thanks, OP.
>>
That was pretty good. Felt really compressed but I suppose I'm too used to extremely decompressed issues.
>>
Was better than most of Slott's issues, only problem is Peter dating a nigger for movie synergy
>>
>>93357330
>Torch is sick of hearing Spider-Man's origin story over and over
kek

Also, forget burning down a bar, he once burned down an entire campus.
>>
>>93357373
Just his brother? I'd be more worried about every super-villain in town and then some trashing this place and killing him.
>>
>>93357330
Ugh I kinda ship them now.

>no superhero movies, they're so unrealistic
What part of superhero movies could THEY possibly find unrealistic?

Johnny will finally get his revenge for that time Peter kissed his sister.

>>

this is mediocre at best
>>
>>93358423
If he was smart he wouldn't be a common thug trying to rob people in broad daylight on a busy street in New York.

Are we sure this guy even likes Spider-man. Why is MJ even living in that shitty looking apartment when she's employed by and rubbing shoulders with Iron Man?
>>
>>93358345
>What part of superhero movies could THEY possibly find unrealistic?
I think it's a joke about how people rarely agree with how their jobs are portrayed in fiction. Like Policemen, Scientists, or Doctors watching serials about those jobs and how they're dramatized for the public.
>>
>>93358507
Did you actually read the dialogue on that last page?
>>
>>93358507
>Spidey
>not having a shitty life and being treated with no respect
Do you even read comics?
>>
Oh joy, another bad Spidey book. Can't get enough of those.
>>
>>93357456
Is that Riri? AAAAAND dropped
>>
>>93358771
Yes it is, I remember solicits for #2 or #3 of this book and Riri was in it
>>
>>93358661
It ain't the 80s anymore.

>>93358658
I didn't want anyone thinking I was jumping the gun with my judgement of the first couple pages so I glanced ahead without really reading in an attempt to lend my post credibility.

>>93358804
Cool. Why the fuck did she blast Spider-man?
>>
>>93357469

Reading a Spidey book not written by Slott is a breath of fresh air. With that said, I need to reread this issue. Spidey was a bit too quirky here.
>>
>>93358862
>I didn't want anyone thinking I was jumping the gun so I jumped the gun
>>
>>93358804
Well serves me right for having hopes for a non-Slott Spider book.
>>
>>93358908
Yeah basically. I think I came to the right conclusion regardless cause there's Spidey was getting shit on a lot. I seemed a little unwarranted.
>>
>>93358862
Dont think it was mentioned in the desc, I think they team up, probably the cliche heroes must fight for some reason before working together thing

>>93358914
yes I hate her too, will probably just stick to RYV desu
>>
Not amazing, but definitely not bad. Felt like it had too many characters and plot lines though, and none of them SUPER compelling.

>Peter dating an OC
>another OC, brother of the Tinkerer fixing everything
>hacked phones that for some reason Peter chases across the country. no really why is he doing this
>Peter has a secret sibling!!!
>Peter getting his spider-senses stolen by SHIELD
>etc etc etc

Just a lot going on. Maybe that's a good thing
>>
>>93358936
>hacked phones that for some reason Peter chases across the country. no really why is he doing this
Nothing about this story makes sense.

If only it were good.
>>
>>93359045
Good is a bit of a stretch.
>>
>>93358992
No, I've heard it was from Family Matters or w/e that Mark Waid OGN was but realistically, for 90% of readers reading this #1 this will be a new plot point.

>>Peter has a secret sibling!!!

This was already a thing. She comes from Spider-Man: Family Business, the OGN by Waid from back in 2014.

Which now brings that into 616 continuity. Where the fuck would it even fit in?

I'm not super impressed by the issue
it wasn't bad
but it just wasn't anything special

it just felt like a Marvel team up book, and I don't need something like that
the Teresa thing is the only thing that's going to keep me reading for now. It was pretty lame how literally everyone was just shitting on Spidey though. I mean, I get that it's a joke, but it's not fun when everyone does it over and over.
>>
Who will be the writer daring enough to wash off the decade-old skidmark that is "One More Day"?
>>
>>93357330
You know, one thing I liked about old comics were all those * and notes from editors.

I wish they would show up more.

None, because that's a decision that can only be approved by higher-ups who refuse.

Well, it's the same person. She was revealed to being tricked into thinking she was his long lost sister, but then the ending was really vague and sort of hinted that she might actually be his long lost sister.

>>93360435
Probably because she wants to talk to Peter now and decided it would be the fastest way to get attention from people around him. Or maybe something more sinister. It's been a while since I read Family Business, did she find out that he's Spidey in that?

No, and that's the best.
Any writer who writes their favourite character for long enough eventually turns to shit
>>
>>93364168
This. Slott's favorite superhero is Spider-man and his favorite villain is Doc Ock. Look where that got us. Writers should never write their favorite characters.
>>
>>93364237
Plus, lets say this guy doesn't like Spider-Man. What he's given us is a Pete that is kind of a weenie, kind of forgetful, tells horrible jokes, and gets no respect from the superhero community despite being one of their best

This is classic fuckin spider-man and I love it.

>>
>>93357491
Are they throwing shade at the MCU? If so, I aprove.
>>
>>93364237
Nah. What you saw is the same general effect that happens with all super popular characters like spider-man. The writers have dreamed their whole life of writing a story about the character so they tend to have something that they've been thinking of doing for decades
That's why almost every writer when placed on a spider-man comic makes some amazing work. The problem is what comes after the big story arcs they always wanted have come to fruition. They now have to make a story with the same standard of quality as something they've been working on for years/decades on a monthly/weekly schedule and most people can't fucking do that so everything takes a sharp drop.
If Slott wasn't such a troll and took sabbaticals from Spider-man to improve his stories the work would be far better.
>>
Why did they write Peter to be such an idiot?

Zdarsky always writes Peter like an idiot.

>>
Thanks for storytiming, Anon. I had cautious hopes for this book but sadly they didn't pay off. Spidey is a literal genius and has been around for a long, long time in the superhero scene. He should probably be respected more in this regard and a retreading of "Peter never makes his appointments" is kind of boring and too cliched nowadays.
>>
>>93368023
Nope. Just some guy with MS Paint.
>>
>>93367758
Stark probably did it to keep tabs on him for a future evil Stark Scheme.
And is his brother the same tinkerer that got brutalized by the SHRA in front of his grandchildren despite being retired? Surely this guy has to have a problem with helping Stark with anything after that?
>>
>>93369064
This is supposed to be a "back to basics" Spidey book, while Slott's book continues on as the "look at how smart and successful and loved Spidey is" take.
