I've been wanting to read some Hawkman lately, what are some recommendations? I've been eyeing the new 52 comics but haven't heard good things. What about the Geoff Johns run?
Hawkworld is the go-to book. Death of Hawkman was the last thing he showed up in AFAIK, it was short and decent.

Read the Hawkworld mini and ongoing. Ignore everything else.
Bronze Age Hawks had some good stuff. They had some classic space adventures in World's Finest.

Johns' run is a great comic, and is pretty underrated.

Hawkworld mini-series, Return of Hawkman (JSA Arc), Hawkman by Johns. Palmiotti and Grey's rub post-Johns is o.k. It follows up on some Johns threads.
All-Star Squadron is fun, but dated, so kinda grating imo. Legend of Hawkman looks cool to me, but haven't read it yet. He also has some nice moments in New 52 Justice League of America.
