When this whole thing blew up I spent about half an hour getting acquainted with it and quickly realized it was impenetrable. I also realize that there are people on this board who have delved into the dubious lore of this body of work much more eagerly than I have.

My understanding of the premise is that these are all ghosts of people who looked much different in life but their ghosts are all near-identical towering girls with identical makeup. Is there any in-canon explanation as to why they all look more or less the same which isn't just "the artist only knew how to draw one character and didn't care to learn how to draw another?"
