There's a psychological thing among the sexes where boys will attach more to their mothers than their fathers, and girls will attach more to their fathers than their mothers.

I have both parents and I can back this up. I would say that changed around (long before) the separation and inevitable divorce where I started to see the manipulations of my mother turning us kids against him, and the struggle of my father being blind by the love of his wife. I still don't know the exact reason for her falling out of love with him, we haven't talked much even when we still all lived in the same house even less so now that she has gone to another tribe, I say tribe cause she didn't say to any men around at the time(me, brother, co-workers) about this other man until she was moving a couple towns away, so its the only way I can see it as.

SOOO that a was a bit of a rant, didn't mean for it to be that. All in all I would say with time comes wisdom and with wisdom comes an appreciation for ones father.
