He was the head guy for a bunch a Rooster Teeth stuff, and RWbY was his project. He died in one of those stupidly unfair ways that just kinda make you go "that sucks", complications from a routine allergy test. It's been over two and half years since he died, so this thread is sorta odd.

Volume 4 they had to scramble to learn a new animating setup while working on the show proper. They managed to pick it up for at least one or two fights in volume 4 at the least.

Yeah but the major failure was in the story, and just how much they crammed into this volume within so little time, while the animation was lackluster at times and the grimm fights were ass, it was for the most part passable, I had more issue with the 6 or so plots going on

He converted 3D models from MikuMikuDance (which isn't "vidyas") to Poser-compatible rigs. This is not a trivial piece of work but he wasn't allowed to do this by the licenses on those MMD figures and he died right around the time people were starting to stack up evidence of what he (and Shane Newville) had done.

The model creators don't live in the US and work for no one else. They cannot afford to mount a lawsuit against a US company and RT knows this. RT also as soon as Monty died got rid of his files and the backups on Shane's laptop and from that point forward all new material used scratchbuilt Maya models and assets.
