I thought the first incarnation of this from the early 90's was one of the worst team ups Marvel attempted.

Having Ghost Rider, Wolverine, Hulk, and Spiderman together never seemed like it made sense. Outside of some editor saying "Hey why don't we put all our edgy badass heroes on a team and replace those boring guys with them!"

It just does not seem like they would work. And none of them would ever really go on super science adventures in space for anything.

I thought Circle of Four worked. Because they weren't trying to be the Fantastic Four, they were distaff counterparts to the new Fantastic Four and it ended with them all cursed with Hellmarks

The Hellmarks could have been a cool reason for this team to get together.
Robbie could be attracted to X-23 and Mania's Hellmarks. And then a random Hulk could show up (personally I'd go with Skaar since he's got mystical Shadow Priest powers). And then they could be demon hunting team.
You could tie it into the multiversal reboot and what's going on in Ultimates2 and say that Hell itself is disorganized because the universe is new and hierarchy of Hell needs to be reestablished. All of the Hell Lords could be trying to stake new territory and claim more power. Another Hell War like in X-Factor but well written this time.

It's funny because, if you put Robbie in the position of protagonist/leader (since it's his fucking book) he actually has a stronger reason to be paired up with Laura and Silk than the original Circle of Four had to team up. Both Laura and Silk were child/teenage soldiers who are just emerging as superheroes proper now, and Robbie is going through the reverse. He's a previously ordinary guy becoming a demonic killing machine. That's way more in common than the random collection of Hulk, wolverine, Johnny and Spider-Man.

It's also why I think it should have been Lyra rather than Cho taking Hulk's spot.

Seriously, that is a great idea.since it's a new universe all demonic contracts no longer hold and it is total chaos as power structures are undone. Damien Hellstrom attempts to strike a deal between the lords of hell when his sister makes a big play for power

He enlists She Hulk to create new contracts. Sorry, Daredevil is too on the nose and She Hulk in Hell sounds sexy
