Speedsters don't use their powers creatively in comics (particularly DC), they are just allowed to Toon around and do whatever they like.

Comic writers have at best a 5th grade grasp of physics. It's sad when they try to apply them to speedsters.

the set-up is that a superman-archetype character goes mad and starts killing everybody because he wants to 'reset' the world and repopulate it so nobody knows some kind of horrible thing he might have done.

Near the end one of the superintelligent characters starts explaining a slew of 'you thought your power was x but it's actually manipulation of this natural force and if you weren't such an idiot you would figure out how to use a much stronger version of this power'
