This movie isn't really that great. Every single plot point is very primitive and simplistic, to a point that if you take all the violence and sex out, it could be a kids movie. I actually remember a lot of people bashing it when it came out. It's only being praised because it looks fucking fantastic compared to a DCEU SS movie, but then again pretty much everything does.

It also looks fantastic compared to Marvel animated flicks.

Except the superbly animated X-Men anime.

SS was good though

Why is a simple plot suddenly a bad thing? It gives the story focus. The worst part of this movie is admittedly the third act where Joker hogs the spotlight. Other than that the movie is enjoyable
Surely more than four people will take this high quality bait, OP.

Really? I don't think you could do a Suicide Squad kid's film unless you outright neuter the living fuck out of it.
That being said, it isn't a terrible movie, it's actually pretty decent for what it is, and the simple plot is easier to digest than any of the live action DC stuff these days. My only real complaints are that the animation is stiff in areas and Joker taking over during the final act (and that Troy Baker, while getting the vocal pattern down, isn't that great a Joker)..
It's amazing to me that superhero media has come as far as it has in TV and film, yet still JLU's "Task Force X" remains the best Suicide Squad adaptation we've yet gotten. What does it say about the DCEU and Warner Bros. Animation that their Suicide Squad movies are both beaten out by a 22 minute episode of a kids show from 12 years ago?
