Depends on how autistic it is.

If ti's as autistic as Homestuck, then the autists will hype it for years (see also: MLP)

If it's a normie comic, then the hype dies out fairly quickly (see: SSSS, The Last Halloween)

If it's a gag comic it can be hyped for a very long time providing it's consistently funny (see: Nedroid)
