I think it's when you have a plot that demands something more of a childish/child character that it becomes an annoyance (though it can also be annoying when they are unrealistically emotional but I'm not naming names).

I think it'll do just fine if it maintains the same vibe we're getting with this first set of episodes. Lots of characters to explore and meet around the plaza. Baddies are goofballs and likeable. Main cast has very comfortable chemistry.

It's really nice to see a video game show that isn't just constant entry level references or something. I was worried it would just be "look at all these knock off versions of video game characters you know doing things that are blatant references to games you know" but it's a neat slice of life type show set in a video game world that doesn't shove it in your face. It would have been really easy to just reference video games nonstop but instead it just takes inspiration from them and does its own thing. It feels like we're seeing a tiny little fraction of a much bigger world where typical video game type stuff happens and I can't wait to see what happens.
I have faith they'll handle it interestingly, since what we've seen so far has been really nice.

I didn't think it would be good but the first episode impressed me. Enjoyed it much more than I expected. Gotta give them props for making such a hype intro in 20 seconds. That's impressive. Voice acting is solid and helps make the character interactions entertaining. I think the world and character designs are creative even though it obviously steals a lot from the works it takes inspiration from. But in the end it was just really fun. It just commits so hard on that 80's vibe that it ends up feeling authentic.

I do have things I don't like about it though. I think they're trying to emulate the TRIGGER style of animating where the quality of animation is inconsistent. So action scenes get good animation and other stuff gets simplistic animation which also doubles as a comedic tool. I don't really think they know when to do what though and the transition to each type can be jarring. So in the end the animation feels messy. Though at least it is fluid, unlike a lot of modern CN shows like the PPG and Ben 10 reboots. So I like that they're actually trying and just hope they learn as they go and make some tweaks. Also I get the neon colour palette is supposed to reinforce the 80's vibe but I just find it obnoxious, though that's just down to my taste and I could probably get used to it.

The only other thing I have to complain about is the villain. Not the robots, they've actually been great. But Boxman is just weak to me. I love a good villain and he's just too incompetent in my opinion.

I watched the first episode, and I'd have to say so far that it's pretty bland. Not terrible, but there's nothing particularly interesting about it. Feels like a less annoying Steven Universe.

I just watched the first two episodes, and although it was surely entertaining, I couldn't really get attached to any of the characters, none of the possible plotlines they've introduced in the first two episodes intrigue me, and the world and setting seem really weak. And considering there was nothing in the first two episodes that I absolutely loved, I probably won't continue watching it. But on the other hand, the only thing I hated was the colour work. It just seems like they couldn't manage to get the aesthetic they were trying, or hoping to get. So the show still has the potential to get me hooked, if I was to give it a chance.
