Why does no one care that this movie is taking a gigantic shit on Peter Parker and Spider-Man as a character? They turned him into white Miles.
>Fat Asian best friend that knows he's Spider-Man
>Goes to a private school
>Acts like a fanboy
>No Spidey sense
>No quips

Even the story is taken directly from the first few Miles comics. Instead of wanting to prove himself as a hero Nick Fury, it's wanting to prove himself as a hero to Iron Man. I rather them kill Uncle Ben again than do this shit. Peter Parker is supposed to be an almost /r9k/-tier loser with no friends and an interest in photography. Tom Holland doesn't even do the Peter voice correctly.
>>
>>93185258
i totally agree with you
>>
>>93185258
>Peter Parker is supposed to be an almost /r9k/-tier loser with no friends
>Misunderstanding Peter's development as Spider-Man this hard
>>
>>93185258
>>No Spidey sense
>>No quips
You're basing this on...
>>
>>93185584
The fifty 6 minute clips we've been shown of the movie and his appearance in Civil War.
>>
>>93185623
Literally every moment he spoke in Civil War aside from the "responsibility" thing was a quip.
>>
>>93185574
Yes, being Spider-Man is supposed to make him more confident, but he still shouldn't have friends.
And from what we've seen he acts exactly the same in costume as out.
Forgot to mention in the OP post:
>ANOTHER rehash of the Spider-Man 2 train scene
>>
>>93185654
Harry, Gwen, MJ, Flash, Betty, Robbie, Johnny, etc etc. Need I go on? Peter has always had a lot of friends to juggle.

>>93185623
>>93185643
Also I forgot, in Civil War we saw Spidey "predict" things and see things coming from behind him. It's pretty obvious he'll have Spidey sense.
>>
>>93185643
You must be from an alternate universe because he didn't quip at all in Civil War, he acted like a fanboy.
The only thing the trailers gives us "Hey, you're not the real Avengers" which is lame as fuck, especially because of his weak unconfident delivery.
He should sound like an asshole with the mask on, only Andrew Garfield got that, as bad as those movies were.
>>
>>93185721
I agree that he should be kind of an asshole, but Spider-Man has always been kind of unfunny despite trying really hard.
He doesn't actually have to be funny to quip.
>>
>>93185721
>He should sound like an asshole with the mask on
Instead of writing all that nonsense you could've just said you don't read Spider-Man. Would've saved both of us the trouble.
>>
>>93185758
This sounds like the kind of excuse a bad writer would make
>>
>>93185721
>my weakness, it's small knives
Trash
>>
>>93185889
I think that anon is dumb but the Spider-Man persona IS an asshole. Remember how awesome and responsible and strong he thought he was when he was pulling up Gwen's corpse?
>>
>>93185931
No one ever actually laughs at Spidey's jokes. He does it to be annoying and distracting. Sometimes there are some good ones but it's really not the point.
>>
>>93185697
Robbie? as in Robbie Robertsen? And he started out as acquaintances with Betty at best.
Harry, MJ, Gwen were all in college. He wasn't friends with Flash till much later either.
And none of those characters besides Betty and Flash are in this movie. I wouldn't have a problem if Harry or Gwen were in this.
Peter did not have friends in high school. Liz would try to invite him places but he was such an insecure asshole he'd refuse and then get angry.

Peter Parker had no friends in high school. In college he had four then Gwen and Harry fucking died, not to mention Harry was kind of a dick.
Homecoming is high school Pete and he has a billion fucking friends and a girl that's already attracted to him before his Spider-Man confidence breaks in.

The first half of TASM almost got it right.

>>
>>93185944
It was great, and at least an attempt at a correct version of the character.

Marvel should've just did a live action adaptation of Spectacular.
>>
>>93186038
At most Miles acts like a flimsy Peter knock off.
>>
>>93186061
He didn't have any fucking friends in high school and 4 friends, two of which die, isn't having a lot of friends.
This movie gives him a Ganke and Peter has never had a Ganke. Harry was his best friend, but they didn't have a relationship like that. He had a pretty fucking terrible relationship with Harry actually.

>Another Spider-Man movie without Parker Luck
>>
>>93185975
This also sounds like the kind of excuse a bad writer would make
>>
>>93186033
In universe most people find Spider-Man unfunny.
>>
>>93186061
Not that anon but he's talking about how he didn't have friends IN HIGH SCHOOL in the comics. At most Betty might've been his friend during that time. He started having friends after being in college.

It's only with the push to keep doing High School Spider-Man that they move all his friends over to high school era in stuff like Ultimate or Spectacular or whatever.

I will see the movie... but I'm not hyped and I'm saying this as someone who was really excited with the addition of Spider-Man to the MCU, but not like this, not in his first individual MCU movie.

Haven't read the old stories in ages but didn't he always have a hot bitch parade around him? He just ignored them because he was too hot headed.

I agree.

Thinks I want in a Spider-Man film.
>Radioactive Spider
>Crusher Hogan
>Uncle Ben's Death wherein it's a home invasion.
>No Love Interest
>Peter stitched his own costume and it looks like a halloween version of the regular costume. As the movie progresses and he gets more and more fucked up from the villains he gradually begins replacing the lost items with their upgraded versions so by the end of the film he's wearing his classic suit.
>Mysterio as main villain with Scorpion as the muscle.
>Web Shooters
>Spider-Sense
>No Underarm webs (I can see the advantages of making them retractable but I want an all cloth costume).
>Daily Bugle and JJJ portrayed by JK SImmons
>Peter can throw a punch but it won't do much good against Scorpion.
>Norman Osborn in the background and takes the serum at the end of the movie.
>Hour and forty five runtime. Trim the fat and make this movie great.
>>
>>93188273
She's Peter with an X chromosome. Research suggests that because women are more skilled with regard to emotion recognition/expression, therefore they are also more likely to be ruled by it. Guys unfortunatley experience emotions but rarely develop positive emotion focused strategies until they encounter someone with secure attachment.

I wish they adopted the shit from Cameron's script where he had a homemade costume, but since he became famous there were more professional Spider-Man costumes in Halloween stores and takes one from there. Didn't they do that in Kick-Ass though? How was Kick-Ass the best Spider-Man film?

A Better question is why do faggots want every single mainstream iteration Peter Parker to be a proxy of 616 Peter Parker?

Jesus, sometimes even a hint originality in a new interpretation can make that interpretation interesting, and just about every MCU hero at this point has been pretty distinctive from their comic counterpart. If MCU Spidey was just an adaptation of previous versions of Spiderman, then what's the fucking point of bringing him in at all? Probably Liz, or maybe MJ. I actually had a Spider-Man movie series planned out that I wanted to do.
They were gonna be animated and each one stylistically was going to be based off an era of Spider-Man comics.
The first movie wouldn't take place in the 60s but the clothes would be reminiscent of the 60s and only 60s music would appear in the movie.

But that was just one of my ideas for a Spider-Man movie series. I have had a lot of ideas regarding Spider-Man.
I would script them if they weren't a waste of time.

Tight fitting spandex, or whatever semi-leather clothing most movie Spidermen have- that looks expensive and complex to manufacture, and mantain. Not even then. Flash was never a bully the way these modern movies show, he was more like a friendly nemesis. Pete was often roaming the halls in the same group as Flash. Pete constantly turned down dates.

This Steve Urkle persona Pete is supposed to have is a fabrication of Sam Raimi, not any comics ever.

Love Spider-Man 2. Favorite Spidey movies hands down. The first Spider-Man movie immediately following and stragely Spider-Man 3. I wasn't even intending to put the Raimi movies first. Now the real question is whether I deccide Amazing Spider-Man 1 or 2 was better.

While I feel like 1 was the more "solid" movie that was focused on telling a singular story, I felt like the second movie gave me more of what I enjoyed from the first and some of the most widely inconsistent acting I've ever scene. For every moment with Andrew Garfield we got another with Dehann who absolutely killed it. The movie was too concerned with trying to set up for a Sony film universe when it should habe been concerned with telling the best Spidey story they could have told.

When the 2nd movie was leaked to youtube I downloaded that like no tomorrow and I gotta say, the movie defied all expetations while simultaneously proving to be a movie without serious substance. The movie is all surface level hints and what could be a part of the universe but nothing is ever addressed in a meaningful way.

>Also I forgot, in Civil War we saw Spidey "predict" things and see things coming from behind him. It's pretty obvious he'll have Spidey sense.

It depends.

The Thor movies pushed hard on the whole "NO WE ARE NOT GODS THIS IS ALL JUST SCI-FI PLEASE DON'T MISTAKE ANY OF THIS FOR MAGIC GOD PLEASE JUST RECOGNIZE THAT NO MATTER HOW IT LOOKS IT'S ALL SCIENCE," but then we have Thor visiting a magical well of visions in a subsequent Avengers movie, and have Amora showing up in Agents of SHIELD and described as a sorceress.

Different writers/directors can and do sometimes lean different ways and include differing interpretations. It's possible the folks responsible for Homecoming will ignore what was implied in Civil War.

I'm not saying it's a certainty or that we have cause to say what will or won't be, just that we have to accept the reality that sometimes there will be this sort of dissonance between different creators' visions.

>Peter doesnt have the funds to MAKE such shit, let alone the gear to repair it.
Writers and artists made it a point to show him constantly sewing his own costume, or having MJ do it for him, sometimes May if she remembered he was a spider. Later on Reed gives him a suit made of unstable molecules so that doesn't happen again.

His daughter did the same till she got a literal warehouse full of her costume.

>They turned him into white Miles.
No, they did not. Miles is completely neurotic and never, read my goddamn lips, NEVER wanted to be Spider-Man. Ganke pushed him into it, and then he quit, and then Jessica dragged him back into it. Peter in this movie is all about being Spider-Man, and his motivation for becoming Spider-Man is still the same. He also has quips out the ass, what the fuck is wrong with you? His Spider Sense in the MCU are his ridiculously enhanced senses, by the way. That's why he has the reactive goggles.

It should be obvious that trolls are just making shit up now to see what will "stick" and what they can run with in their 24/7 effort to shit on the MCU movie they fear the most.

Spider-Man challenges their core belief that only the most iconic heroes exist at DC, but now that Spider-Man is no longer another company's exclusive property and has now joined their evil MCU nemesis the situation has just been escalated. And I mean, let's be honest, there's absolutely nothing this movie could do, pull off, or potentially manage that they wouldn't shit on.

If Spider-Man doesn't punch people than it's kiddy shit. If Spider-Man punches people then "it's not my Spider-Man hurrrr".

If Spider-Man uses quips then it's MCU trash. If Spider-Man doesn't use quips then "Why do they have to butcher the character to make the movie seem edgier?"

Fuck, Zack Snyder could direct this movie and they'd still hate it.

Spider-Man (2002)
>Fantastic intro to a character known by most. Cast was great. Music was original. And having the Green Goblin as the first villain was genius.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)
>A sequel that improves in every way. More web slinging action. A more compelling and personal story. And a tragic villain. Best sequel ever. I'm just pissed that 15 year old me didn't quite "get it".

Spider-Man 3 (2007)
>A movie that reeks of executive meddling. Directing is always on point but the script needed some serious trimming. Still a fun movie that I've enjoyed as I've gotten older.

Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
>A movie that was made so the rights to the character wouldn't revert back to Marvel. Webb wanted to put his stamp on the series like Raimi did but he dropped the ball on the villain (although I do enjoy the Lizard).

Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
>A straight up guilty pleasure that doesn't contribute anything meaningful to the Spider-Man mythos but still tried to set up something much grander in scale. I can appreciate the ambition, but the finished project was....off.

Spider-Man Homecoming (2017)
>Haven't seen. Heard Peter doesn't throw a single punch which pisses me off. And before anyone says anything it also agitated me in the animated series because it seemed like Peter is purposely letting his villains walk all over him. Michael Keaton as Vulture has me excited though (just hope he doesn't die).

She's Peter with an altered genetic makeup that is likely to affect behavior and mental processes (not severely but enough to notice). Also she had to put up with way more shit than Peter ever did in the early parts of her life (after being made in a lab), so it's pretty easy to understand why she would leave Ock to experience an absolutely horrible death wheras Peter feels compelled to act.

How are they not? All throughout his career its been the FF to help him out. The Human Torch has been his friendly nemesis since the days of Torch being one of Marvel's top draws. every time Spidey gets in trouble it was the FF that helped him out.
The FF are tied directly to the symbiote nonsense. Spidey started his heroic career trying to join the FF and then after Torch died, he DID join them. Pete directly revealed his identity to them after the OMD mindwipe bullshit.

Spidey is linked to the FF in a way he is no other character or team.

>>
>>93217946
i dont want to dig up articles, because its not one specific source.
basically, read what Andrew Garfield said about the movie and sony, and then go through the sony leaks for stuff about Webb, Garfield, and TASM2.

Basically, Webb couldn't do much on the first one, because that was his first big budget movie, but he and Andrew saw the shortcomings on TASM and thought they were gonna do better on the second film, but first the film got shitty rewrites(per the studio) and then they had to make a number of changes. TASM2 being a "tent-pole" film wasn't the intent of those two, but they tired to go with it.
Idk how much either of them cared afterward, Garfield was obviously pissed, you can see that because he said so then, and has mentioned it since, I dont know of anything Webb has said, but i'm going to guess that as the director, he took it harder, or just can't do much since as a director without much under his belt, he can't shittalk the studio as much as an actor can.

>Better question, why did Lee & Ditko write 15 year old Peter into a relationship with a grown woman?
so, the thing is that Betty wasn't that old, she had dropped out of school to start working, so she wouldn't have been all that much older than Peter, maybe 3-6 years?
personally, my head canon is that Peter would have been 16, maybe 17 once he started doing bugle stuff (cause he was celebrity character spider-man for at least a while), and Betty was 20-ish.
