Post other fictitious races/societies that'd beat the fuck out of the gem empire. I know there's got to be at least 5 other races that could wipe them out. So go on and post, preferably with an explanation as to how and why they could do so.
>>
Like, any.

It's not like the Homeworld is presented as particularly powerful. The show is even straight up stating they're in decline.

like we haven't seen what the gem military looks like, beyond a few small squads, kinda like trying to judge the whole US military based on like one tank and like seven low ranking troopers, it would tell you nothing about the real crown jewels of our military, the nuclear arsenal

Also a basic problem with sci-fi is as you mix and max sci-fi you realize often that certain universes have inherent advantages over others, like Star Trek would stand no chance against Star Wars once you realize just how much greater in scale Star Wars is

Pretty much that's all these threads are so they're invalid if you're looking for real discussion and anlysis or any of that shit (lolol real discussion on 4chan?). They're just a show hate circlejerk.

I think the Gem Homeworld capabilities are really vague and since they're not shown going up against other races you can't actually tell how they do do. Meanwhile in Star Trek they show alien races at war with other races so in a "vs. Thread" you actually have feats and shit to work with.

The Gems might be able to beat a lot of races bu the show does not touch on what they can or cannot do at war with other races so these threads are a pointless circlejerk of SU backlash which fine okay, but it's not a substaintial vs. discussion.

No doubt Wars has the numbers and size but Trek's shielding and weapons are far superior.

Every space battle in Star Wars has little fighters flying along and blowing up the capital ship's laser turrets with like one or two shots.
Star Trek fights start off with pounding the enemies shields just so your can get to the meaty ship bits. Not to mention that laser based weapons, which are the bread and butter of Star Wars, literally pose no threat to standard a Trek ship.

Star Trek has weaker weapons so shields seem to be stronger

Fleets in Star Wars commonly engage in orbital bombardment and they have a ton of experience with doomsday weapons in general, meanwhile most ships in Star Trek aren't even capable of engaging in large scale orbital bombardment

>Or the Star Wars weapons tech is so far beyond the shield tech that its a joke

Yet a single person fighter can still fly straight into the bridge of a command ship. Try that with a Star Trek ship and the fighter and it explodes on the shield, while draining almost no power from it.
I could accept that a weapon could cut through their shields with no resistance but not a relatively slow mass of metal.

We don't see orbital bombardment because Star Trek is almost always from the perspective of Federation science vessels. And, I would presume, bombardment of an entire planet is frowned upon by the Federation.
We have seen whole cities get destroyed from a single phaser blast or photon torpedo though. It's not hard to imagine scaling that up just a bit.
>>

Quartz are earth gems tho, and the strongest one out of them where shown to be Rose (unique and defunct) and Jasper (not all that impressive), why would home-world have a bunch of Quartz laying around other than the rejects from the human zoo?

>I don't remember very well the time that Amethyst had to reform but I remember it taking way more than a couple minutes for her to reform properly
She got poofed during the fight with Jasper and reformed in few minutes. That I consider a baseline, since when she reformed in seconds it was consided a rush job, and when she reformed in two hours it was considered an abnormaly long period.
>Pearl took up to a few weeks
Two options: 1) Pearl is not a fighter gem, 2) She took too long because of Pearl perfectionist OCD tendencies
>Garnet seemed to take too long considering that her individual gems where captured
I doubt more than an hour had passed between when Steven got knocked out and he woke up in the cell, and Ruby and Sapphire had to have been incarcerated for quite some time then. Besides, Ruby and Sapphire, likely aren't as much of a threat when separated and could be easily restrained.

Had to look it up on youtube but you're right.
I'll admit my knowledge is woefully inadequate for a debate that has been going on for as long as this one has.

I still argue of the Star Trek side though.
Ship phasers have been shown to quickly dig through a plant's surface.
I think it's the planet destroying super weapons that are the definitive answer. Star War's is a small moon sized station. Star Trek's is a slightly larger than average torpedo that any ship can fire.
Even Trek's most devastating star destroying ship, at least most devastating I can recall, is smaller than the standard Star War capital ship.

Wouldn't all it take to get an advantage on them is for any of the races to get a hold of one of these? They seem to carry them by the dozen in every ship even if they're barely manned. If any race where to weaponize them they'd probably win in a jiffy.

I feel like 'nids might actually have a tough time fighting gems, if only for the attrition involved. Assuming the gems are on the defensive, we're talking about worlds the tyranids have to invade that have NO organic matter, and NOTHING to assimilate. Combat-wise, they could handle themselves just fine, but the gems just might outlast them via attrition.
>>
>>93182904
Speaking for cartoons there really isn't that much representation of aliens. So, there's only a couple I could think of off the top of my head. There's the Cluster of MLaaTR. It may not be that one sided because the Gems can use both magic and technology. Ben 10 has many alien races, so there has to be some that could do substantial harm to the Gems. Heatblast's race might be able to get the job done.

Monster Buster Club had a lot of aliens, but I don't know much about the show.

Then there's also MiB. I don't know what Aliens can possibly get one over on the Gems, but they might exist.

Well, part of the issue is with how certain abilities can be said to be "only part of this franchise" or could otherwise be expanded out on a "logical"/flavorful basis.

Like, what -is- a keyblade, and why do they do well against the Heartless?

Would Samurai Jack's sword logically work against the Heartless - because it is a divine sword meant to destroy otherwise invincible evil (such as Aku) - or is Jack shit out of luck because the sword isn't a keyblade? Or, would Jack's sword, by transformers multiversal logic, become a keyblade if he were to enter a portal to the Kingdom Hearts multiverse?

Likewise, what about light/holy-based magic, like D&D paladins, or the naaru from Warcraft?

Or the various "purify evil out from people" abilities from magical girl shows like Sailor Moon?

Where I raze worlds it is for no need other than my will. The turn of my world aflame is done that I may stand atop suffering and all peoples may look upon me as their God. The big problem with 40k isn't beating the gems, it's opening up another front in the future with ONLY WAR. If it really came down to it even the elite soldiers come off as slightly smarter orks and their casters are mostly low to lower mid tier psykers. But you'd need to divert a whole chapter of space marines that you'd need elsewhere, or like a dozen IG regiments once you factor in armor, mechanized, footsloggers, abhumans, ect.

Every one of those resources could go towards defending another imperium world, or retaking one overrun with Orks or Nids or whoever else.

Xeno races aren't much better, the Eldar plain can not afford to fight a war they could probably win handily just because of lives and resources. The Orks simply won't grow if their spores hit a world already drained to make gems, and won't reliably hit the permadeath weakspot.

The only factions that would gain from the victory are the Tau, who'd probably incorporate random bits of tech to advance further, and the Dark Eldar, who'd find an infinitely regenerating slave they don't need to feed convenient.

The only real question is if Gems can be corrupted to Chaos.

The keyblade doesn't play well with other concepts. You assume it can just do other forms of evil but you have to be super conditional with immortal pirates like Barbossa and worlds with existing heroes also get wiped regularly.

Is your power directly related to hearts, souls, or light? If so you may have a shot. Is it from a god, or arcane forces, or not one degree removed from the above three? Tough titties. Your darkness and that darkness are largely exclusive and the you'll just get shitfuck'd harder because they'll probably team up.

I'm not sure how much of an edge a fusion actually provides the gems. Homeworld gems only let same gems fuse and that just produces bigger results of the same type in the examples we've seen. It could be that when they're really at war they create massive fusions of rubies and others or that certain fusions enhance the gem's powers like Ruby's heat generation growing to full on fire. I kind of doubt that though since the only battle we've seen they used Jaspers as foot soldiers.

First, I wouldn't be the leader…or rather the official leader. I'd keep the diamonds as powerful figureheads and keep my head low as a puppet master. Perhaps be like a pearl and condition the leaders to treat me as such so my cover isn't blown.
I'd commission sniper gems in secret. Or gems that can shape shift for an indefinite time. Fake a democratic foreign policy and have a secret group to take out the opposition from the inside. Have a 'shoot first and ask questions later' in regards to rebellious groups and set off the corrupting wave before putting troops on the ground. Perhaps aim for the rebel leader first and plant people into the rebellion to fill the power vacuum and end up puppeting the rebellion from within. Push for firearms/projectiles as summonable weapons. Make death star like weapons that aren't an unstable cluster.

The gem empire on Homeworld COULD smash a lot of the fictitious races in many other series, but their greatest assets are taboo and their bureaucracy prevents adaptation.

If Homeworld got as creative as the Crystal Gems with fusion and cooperation with native species, they could create clusters of non-shattered gems that fuse willingly into planet sized goddesses who can manifest basically anything they wanted whenever they wanted to locally.

Your power is laughable, creature-yet-not-creature. Borne from the earth, your gems give you form, purpose, compelled by false idols you plunge yourself into a life of chaos. My gift shall save you. All will be order. All will become flood. You will understand. Even now, my spores infiltrate your rock, your tether to the mortal coil. Who am I? I am a monument to your sins. All shall cower before the flood. You claim to conquer planets, yet even the implacable must surrender to natural order. I cannot be destroyed. Im pretty sure a fully grown gravemind is up there in terms of power. Not as pwoerful as 40k, but it could wipe the floor with many races like star trek, or star wars. The sheer level of bullshit it pulls off in the forerunner books gives my theory weight.

A little background for the gravemind:

>its the corrupted essence of tbe race that created most organic life, after a catastrophe, they turned themselves into a powder that could genetically remake them after all the trouble simmered down. In essence graveminds are really just a crude facsimile of a true forerunner, but are still incredibly powerful.

worse, infected humans with access to any location in space:

>SCP-3003-4 is a facility capable of creating wormholes between an apparatus at its center and any other point in space. SCP-3003-4 occupies 113 km2 of an otherwise unused polar region of SCP-3003. Most of this is dedicated to the creation and transport of several forms of exotic matter, as well as creating brief laser pulses in the 1040 watt range, in order to stabilize wormholes for longevity and traversability. For reasons that are currently unclear to the Foundation, this has no effect on the targeted location other than the linkage of the two locations.

>Each activation of SCP-3003-4 requires approximately one zettajoule (1021 joules) of energy; in comparison, Earth's annual energy consumption is roughly 0.5 ZJ, whereas SCP-3003-3 consumes about 833 ZJ yearly. SCP-3003-3 has been using SCP-3003-4 primarily to examine planets they've identified as candidates for expansion, though they have also explored the possibility of using it for resource collection.

Factoring out Zim, cause he's banished and they hate him. These guys have 100% success rate, with ships and weaponry far superior to Gem tech.

Plus while Aim may be a bumbling fool, the armada as a whole is straight up RUTHLESS. They kill their own worker drones because unlike Gems they don't have to drain a planet of resources to make more Irkens.

Also unlike the gems, if an Irken soldier was deemed defective and unable to hold themselves together they get killed (this was touched on in The Trial).

But more importantly, the Irkens soul actually show up to the fight (not send one or 2 drones) would ACTUALLY fight for the kill, and would do it while laughing eating snack in their cooshy cockpit lounge on The Massive.

Fun fact. Tak blade a cluster that ACTUALLY worked. Dib reversed the effects but had he not been there the Irkens would have succeeded in mere days (unenthusiastically I might add) where the Gems failed for 1000 years.

In everyway. Irkens outclass Gems as a invading force.

It would probably be the Galactic Empire. They have more worlds, more people, and better technology than the Imperium
>>
>>93207718
It's not a straight answer. It would most likely be the Galactic Empire but the problem is we don't know the full technological and militaristic capabilities.
>>
>>93207718
Which Imperium? Dark Age, Great Crusade, or Current?

I was under the impression that the Dark Age of Technology wasn't the Imperium

Well it wasn't but it was still a human empire in 40k so you could make that stretch.
>>
>>93208015
I don't actually remember, but did Humans have contact with the Eldar or Orks during the DAOT
>>

Well, obviously. The Yarn People are a force not to be trifled with.

Eldar, yes, they actually did trade with them on occasion.
Orkz, I dunno but I assume so, the Green-skins can spread far wide after all.

>"I am honored to be the first CEO of a private corporation to become a member of the International Security Council. Unfortunately, my appearance today has been clouded by a flurry of speculation that my company is developing a weapon of mass destruction which would be capable of targeting specific ethnic groups and these 'crystal gems' from the Delmarva State. I want to address these allegations head on. Are we developing such a weapon? No we are not. Because we've already developed it. With all due respect, The 'Gems' as a race are a failure of species and have attempted to hollow out our world just for the sake of their pointless expansionism. They don't even have a culture. So I feel uniquely qualified to tell you, your plans with working with these glorified rocks don't work! Which is why my priorities have changed; from profits to policy. Because politicians don't know how to solve problems. But I do. So let's be clear. I am here to solve the world's problems, especially that 'Cluster' that still lies dormant inside our very planet... And I believe the world's problems...begin with you."
