First off, I don't think GOTG uses any 80s music. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's all late 60s and 70s.

Second, I'm not sure why there would be music playing for Thanos when that's specifically a Star-Lord/GOTG thing. If you notice the licensed music only plays in the MCU when someone in the movie has set it to play. I don't see Quill goin out of his way to set up the boom box or whatever when Thanos is laying waste to a planet.

If anything it'll probably play something from the ship speakers when the Guardians first show. Kinda like Iron Man in the Avengers.
