But can you imagine if it was set in Toronto? Mickey would be trying to get a gift for Minnie, only to find that the store has been demolished and turned into a condo. He tries to find another store, but they're all turning into condos too. When he finally returns to Minnie, she's become a condo.

It's absurdist like Looney Tunes would get, but Looney Tunes shorts were either chase-based or dialogue based. Those go in a bit of a different direction usually. Though definitely not the same as old shorts.

I actually watched even the earliest Mickey shorts and they were never filled with gross-out gags, fucked up close-ups on crooked teeth/zits and there definitely wasn't as much screaming. There was quite a bit but not all the god damn time. Cartoon antics are fine, I'd say "Swimmin' Hole" is pretty okay for the current standards set by the series, but still they fucking yell like they're worried kiddies will stop following what's on the screen.
