I think this is the most important bit that needs to be remembered when bringing up the Nancy/John Redcorn affair. King of the Hill lasted for 13 seasons. Nancy ended the affair with John Redcorn in season 4. That means she spent 9 entire seasons atoning for her past mistakes, and every time the affair came up in those 9 seasons it was made clear that Nancy genuinely regretted abusing Dale's trust for so long, even if she enjoyed her time with John Redcorn.
