So now that The Loud House is getting a theatrical film in 2020, what are some other Cartoons that should get movies?
>The Amazing World of Gumball
>>
>>93014686

No fucking way.
>>
Ok anons, you're put in charge of making the Loud House movie. What would you do?

>>
>>93014802
Pretty much. Or some kind of a character examining Jaime Lannister in a modern setting. Clyde would probably get hit by a truck in the first scene and kick off the plot.
>>
>>93014715
Fuck. Whenever I write a plot it becomes one of the Rugrats movies.
>crossover with FOP
>a family road trip (including Clyde) that gets the Loud Family lost in the wilderness and must fight to get back together. Also some of them get lost in the World, not just the forest.
Basically trip to a foreign location gone wrong.
>>
>mfw Luan has a arc where she tries to meet a comedienne who inspired most of Luan's humor, voiced by Amy Schumer
>>
>>93014947
>crossover with FOP
Wouldn't be a bad idea if it was old FOP. For instance Lola meeting Vicky and Tootie and there being a joke about them sounding so similar would've been something cool to see, same with Wanda and Ms. Johnson. Instead though it would be modern FOP where Crocker and Timmy's dad would screaming in a room with Lincoln and Clyde while no one else appeared except maybe in a random background shot.
>>

I believe it. The creator's been in the industry for a long time and has worked with multiple notible studios and projects under his belt, that he's sure to have plenty strings, contacts, and favors in the biz. Madman probably spent years planning it.
>>
To be honest, how many of you were surprised that the Loud House gained in massive popularity?

Do any kids (whether your own kids or nieces and nephews) you know have been raving over TLH?

Probably Lincoln and Clyde dicking around, though... I personally hope it surprises the shit out of us and we get a 'Why Charlie Brown Why' heartbreaker.
>>
>>93015867

I work with kids of varying ages and have never once heard them say anything about it. In the afternoon, we give them a bit of television time and they pretty much want Disney Channel or Scooby-Doo
>>
>>93016275
>Scooby-Doo

Bullshit. Scooby-Doo is older than most kids' parents these days, how can it still be popular?

>>
>>93016288

We have DVDs of it; you'd be amazed how many times kids can watch the exact same damned episodes of Where Are You! without getting tired of it.
>>
>>93016033
>'Why Charlie Brown Why' heartbreaker.

That would be awesome.
>main theme is loss and growth
>Lincoln befriends a girl who is unknowingly suffering from neurofibromatosis and slowly dying, but neither are aware of it. The girl is actually nice to him, a far cry from Lynn and Ronnie, and starts showing more confidence and having better luck. However, it causes some friction between him and Clyde.
>Also, it's May and Lori is about to leave for College. May not sound like a big deal, but Lori... Lori was never close to her family. So when she's gone, the one Loud to make it to Uni, she's gone. Lincoln knows he'll never see her again outside of a social networking site and that his whole family dynamic will change.
>most of the movie follows subplots like preparing for a local festival, Lincoln putting with Linclone and Chandler's antics, Lori breaking up with Bobby, him making new friends in school and starting to move on from his usual bunch of nerds, etc.
>then the new girl collapses in the park right when Lincoln shows up, made doubly sad because he was going to propose a date to her.
>hospitalized for the last few days of her life, Lincoln doesn't want to face her and runs away. Gets really sad and hides in his room, family acts like they're unaware of his problems and Lynn starts picking on him after her shitty team lost the game again. Starts to exit boyhoood.
>after one shitty day he snaps and gets into a fight with Chandler after he tries messing with him. Gets beaten bloody and suspended, parents tear into him and he gets grounded.
>at the dinner table Lynn tries messing with him and Lincoln has had enough. He explodes, finally standing up for himself and gradually tearing into his family as they've done nothing but step on him for the past year. Particularly Lynn.
>table gets really quiet as he storms up into his room and slams the door.
>next morning, his parents talk to him. Reveals his problems.
>>
>>93016288
Wha...you think a 5 year old has any awareness that those cartoons came out in the 70s?

>Rita and Lynn both convince him to see his friend as he has been running away from it, "You'll always regret it if you don't." Lincoln decides to face his fear and see her one last time.
>gets driven to the hospital, says his final goodbyes. Single tear drops down his cheek as he walks away.
>next week Lori finally graduates and is moving out, Lincoln says goodbye. Not terribly emotional, but they were never close so Lincoln isn't too worried watching her drive away. In fact, he notices the house is a little quieter and that he kind of likes it.
>Summer Vacation is just beginning. Second to last scene is him mourning on a bench, Linclone briefly appears trying to fuck with him but Lincoln stands up for himself and ol' Wilkes hides behind his Mom. But one of his new friends walks up to him and comforts him. Lincoln decides she would've wanted him to be happy. Lincoln is now a lot more maturer than he was at the start of the movie.
>Last scene shows Lincoln playing with a group of kids and being happy for once. He lost friends, but gained many new ones. Growing up and moving on to bigger and better things.

Also, these kids will watch the hell out of Tom and Jerry shorts given the chance to do so and those are older than most of their grandparents.

There's a reason that those shorts and Scooby-Doo outlasted every other classic HB material on Cartoon Network by almost two decades.
>>
>>93015867
>>93016472
It's an old-school fun cartoon for kids, about kids just BEING kids in a family setting. It doesn't try to be deep or dramatic and it's not a cartoon made by man and womanchildren, for man and womanchildren masquerading as a kids' cartoon.

>>93016512

yeah, that is the idea but I remember the creator also draw some young catboy totally wanting to fuck his mother comic strips some years ago so when you remember that hard to not thing about this show that way.... also the fandom is just .... ayylmao
>>
>>93016568
>>
>>93016472
Nothing really. It's a very generic show that doesn't have the freedom or the balls to become it's own thing. Peanuts was a newspaper clipping but the characters felt real and human, Hey Arnold thrived on it's bizarre characters and it's grounded urbane setting. Both weren't afraid to push boundaries and possibly get in trouble with the suits up top. LH has neither, and is in truth, generic noise meant to placate children-or rather manchildren.

Nothing more. Nothing less. I can see the makings of a good cartoon if LH had a better team and Savino wasn't using it as a animated self insert fanfiction, but it is what it is.
>>
>>93016590
who is that?
>>
>>93016568
Judging shows by their fandoms is pretty retarded. Especially in an age where the internet means anything popular inevitably generates a cancerous fandom.

It's basically the opposite of anything /co/ would enjoy being that it's a good cartoon, so I'd have to assume people only talk about it here because they want to fuck one of the sisters.

>Teen Titans Go
>>
>>93016656
Nope. A show has to be fun and have it's own identity. That's what makes it enjoyable and memorable; and why you'll remember Charlie Brown and the Scoobie Doo Gang till the day you die, while forgetting Lincoln Loud ever existed in a week. That's not even getting into the questionable writing decisions. I mean...

Out of all the classmates they could've chosen for the best friend, why in the hell did they go with Clyde? He's a absurdly boring caricature they just can't fix, even after giving him more episodes than any of the sisters.
>>
I agree, the writing is pretty incompetent.
>>
>>93016740
Honestly, pretty much every main character in TLH is more developed than the Scooby Doo gang. They had what, two, maybe three character traits each? I'm not even sure Daphne had any.
>>
>>93016740
Completely untrue, and again, not everything needs to be remembered for years to come.
The value of cartoons is ultimately subjective, I for one cannot name one Charlie Brown special I wasn't bored to death by, and hate most Scooby Doo series and movies with few exceptions.

Something having its own identity is a nebulous phrase. Not to mention completely irrelevant. The show is distinctive in the current climate of 'plot'-driven cartoons that are currently popular.

The show manages to be the number one animated kid's show airing because it offers something unique and because it's an experience that is enjoyable to a lot of people.

No one is saying it's going down in history as something that has changed animation. Just that it's fun.

Also, Clyde is a fun side character, though he's not going to get himself a spin-off or anything like that.
>>
>>93014686
A:TLA
A fucking proper one this time
>>
>>93016944
No, just fucking no. The most A:TLA should get is an alternate ending, otherwise the series needs nothing more, it was a completed story, adding more shit to a completed story will inevitably become a disaster ie. Korra.

Only because they'll never stop with the movies or new series every couple of years. For whatever reason, Scooby Doo is the only Hannah Barbera "Gang of kids solves mysteries" show that didn't fall into obscurity.

I kill off Clyde and make the movie about the mourning of a departed friend.
>>
>>93014715
Adds a year to the time of the show. Lori is moving out to go to College with Bobby, Lily is now old enough to talk and be her own character (she's a flower child who serves as Lisa's ditzy lab assistant), and a new baby is born because Rita and Lynn just can't keep it in their pants. A girl just replaces Lily's original role, so the new baby is a boy (2 boys, 9 girls, wouldn't change it for the world, etc) called Loyd or whatever. One of the other older girls gets a love interest in the movie to fill the gap of the Lori and Bobby jokes.

New seasons are built up with episodes of Lincoln and the sisters teaching his new baby brother how to survive in the Loud House (which is just ripping off "Good Luck Charlie" but eh), with at least two episodes set outside the Loud House in both Ronnie's house and in Lori's college dorm.
>>
>>93016472
I just find it relatable from being in a big family myself.

Also sometimes it's nice just to have a cartoon again where you don't need to know the full backstory of every character to understand what's going on.

The same as with little pony, if you make characters endearing people will want to know how they react to things and interact with each other, they are like cartoon people, like, when you watch whatever cartoon and they are just the regulars in the background.
