So I am on season 2 episode 3 and I still can't tell if

So I am on season 2 episode 3 and I still can't tell if I like this show or not.

I have feels Frank and I want to see him succeed and I find his wife a great character too (a little one note but still great) and their struggle is really and interesting but I just can't stand the eldest son. He's so cringeworthy it hurts.

My other issue bugs me the most, the youngest son is treated like such shit and he's the second most upstanding character next to the mom. I get it, the series isn't supposed to be feel good but god damn it I just want to see the kid win once and not get his face rubbed in his faults. Do any of you see things turning around for the poor boy any time soon? I just can't stand seeing a good kid eat shit for too long. I mean even Charlie Brown had some wins along the way.
