I remember seeing Adventure Time's popularity during my High School Days (it's 8 years old).
It was everywhere on drawings, costumes, keychains, you name it.

Powerpuff. I collect cartoon network merchandise and the Ed stuff is limited to promo toys from cn,key chains,subway toys,some fast food toys from Hong kong, bobble head plushes,normal bobble heads, hot wheels cars, a plank pillow etc. Powerpuff has all of that and then everything you can imagine I assure you there is so much of that shit. Edds have merchandise but it was produced in low quantities. I carry a mini eddy on my key ring and have a official cartoon network lanyard they gave out at the offices in 1999.

Powerpuff is #1 with ease.
The edd stuff made money but is super rare. Like there is a lot of it but all of it was made in super low quantity
Jack stuff is selling now like crazy (I have key chains of him and aku I also have a dark jack plush and a normal one I bought from some nuns.) But the stuff didn't sell well back in the day
Courage stuff is actually really popular and always has been I have a courage plush with tag that could go for 50$ easy.
Really the coolest stuff is the cn gift bag stuff. Like I have a whole set of theses figures that you can morph the arms on and one of them is sunny from class of 3000 ( there are tons of others like ed power puffs grim etc I have a whole set but this is one of the few class of 3000 items I know of and it was given out as a gift not commercial sale. The whole set is like that)

Non sense. The merch was profitable but very limited run. I have almost all of it that exists. You could have all the Ed stuff on on a couple of shelves except for the bobble head set + case cause it is actually pretty big.

Powerpuff was more popular, but you have to admit that Adventure Time (for better or worse) spearheaded an entirely new era for Cartoon Network, if not the medium as a whole, in terms of visual design, writing, comedy, and characters.

I mean fuck man I remember that dark time when the first few promos for Adventure Time came out. At that point the only things to watch were an edgy Ben 10 reboot, Chowder, Johnny Whipcrack and reruns of all the failed series canceled the year before.

The shows that came the year after were great but ultimately none of them had any staying power.

I'm not saying EE'nE wasn't profitable, I'm saying it was dwarved by the other two. It had like zero presence in the public eye whereas Power Puff girls shit was everywhere.

I can't say the same for Adventure Time since I became sort of a hermit when it started airing but I certainly saw a lot of T-shirts and toys when I went shopping.
