Historically, the reverse is true if you really examine them at their roots. Superman was the take-no-bullshit socialist brawler that still had a heart of gold, whereas Wondy was more of the unabashedly compassionate matriarch who genuinely wanted to reform her villains instead of handing them their comeuppance. She was no compromise between Batman's grimdark street vigilantism and Superman's post-40's "All American Boy Scout" routine, she was really more of a successful actualization of the two distinct elements that made both other Trinity members work; Superman's "always another way" optimism, and Batman's "second chance" reasoning behind his 'no kill' rule.

But if writers actually thought of that, then it might detract from Batman and Superman's "night and day" pottery, and I guess that's just more important.
