Why does Nick air their shows meant for a younger audience on their main channel, when they have Nick Jr?
The only people who still watch daytime TV are seniors and pre-K kids.

Not everyone has Nick Jr.

>we have these shows for a demographic that is our primary audience during the daytime
>let's throw them all onto a channel that most of that demographic doesn't have access to
Brilliant, 10/10, you have saved Nickelodeon OP.
>>92915820
>a demographic that is our primary audience during the daytime
That's what OP is (correctly) taking issue with.

how can you have Nick but not Nick jr.? i'll admit it's been awhile since i watched the SpongeBob channel but isn't Nick Jr. just a programming block that airs in the morning?
>>92916113
Nick Jr. has a separate channel now, much like Boomerang or Disney XD.

He's taking issue with Nickelodeon airing preschool shows during timeslots that only preschoolers watch?
>>92916113
Nick Jr., TeenNick, and Nicktoons are all pay television channels, which is why they get godawful ratings. It's like Boomerang and Disney XD, the networks just dump shit there to die.
American school hours; it makes parents feel like their toddler isn't wasting future schooltime watching television, and you could arguably make the case that educational shows at those hours normalizes learning in the minds of toddlers, so when they get into actual schools they won't be jarred by the change in attitude.
Studio-wise, obviously, it's just a means to burn time at notoriously low-rated hours (for children's television).

It's really stupid to think only preschoolers watch daytime TV. (No wonder TV is dying out.)
>>92917392
Why airing the same show for 2 hours thought?
>>92914928
>Toucan Do It!
heh
The idea is probably to get people to buy into bigger plans with their providers so they stick special event shows or specific programming on alternate channels that don't come in the main package. (ie, new eps of shows usually premiere on Disney XD first, there's certain shows that only air on Nick Jr or Sprout or whatever)
it's obviously because Viacom/Disney/whoever are in bed with the providers.
nick jr. isn't standard cable
how dense is OP?
>>92916193
>implying disney channel and nickelodeon are free channels
where do you live anon?
What is the point in having those billion fucking premium channels no one watches from a network point of view? Like why the fuck does G4 exist just to show reruns of cheaters?

Paw Patrol is popular with the kids, has a considerable amount of content, and are inoffensive to boot (inoffensive, in this case, being hard to grasp or distinctive; your toddler can burn through 2 hours and not realize it, this not getting disinterested and giving you enough time to get a quickie before you're off to work or whatever).
