> Still no good Superhero High School story
How do we do it right, /co/?
>>92896722
You make Sky High the animated series
>>92896818
Everything in that whole movie was building up to what happened at the end. What's left to happen? Where's the plot going to come from?
>>92896722
>High School
Found the problem.
>>92896722
>>92896722
This is the closest you'll ever get.
>tfw a relaunch would be a quirky comedy without any gravitas
The place to start is to list out what was wrong/lacking in current/previous attempts.
What are your least favorite superhero high school stories? What was redeemable?
What are your favorites? What made them your favorites? What are they missing?
>>92898645
>good
>>92896722
Destroy the high school first few pages
>>92896722
We'll get a good Superhero High School story after a good Rock and Roll High School story. The first one was mediocre and it's sequel-- Rock and Roll High School Forever? TRASH.
>>92896872
How did I never realize I desperately want this.
It won't be better than this so why even try?

>what is Iron Man: Armored Adventures
>>92902505
Ironically, it looks incredibly ordinary.
High school settings are the worst. Why would you want to add capeshit to the mix?
>>92896722
High schools are fucking lame and so are teenagers? Maybe that's why?
>>92896722
Man fuck highschool I want superhero kindergarterners, who are being looked after by a normal kindergarten teacher due to a mishap, but kids end up loving her so she decides to stay despite the principal offering a better less stressful position.
>>92896722
>High School
>How do we do it right, /co/?
By not having it at all.
>>92902585
Yeah. But I have a weak spot for highschool superpower stuff.
Kinda like Japan has a thing for harem fantasy shounen isekai
Or america has a thing for hamburgers
>>92896722
make Invincible a movie
it fits in right well the whole "special snowflake teenage" audience. stuff like Divergent,Percy Jackson,Hunger Games and whatever.
>>92901169
>>92896722
Better question, do we even need the Highschool? Hear me out, what if some teenager in highschool got super powers one day, said, "Holy shit I can Super power some shit, fuck highschool I'm getting a GED and Cruise Controlling my life with Superpowers."
I mean, we can argue that the Highschool is crucial for character development and that it can bring some nice scenarios, but then again most Highschool stories have been played time and time again, it's gotten old. I say, give a teen some super powers, a GED, a Penny, a Suitcase, and throw him out into a world not prepared for them and vice versa. Get some crazy shit going on.
tl;dr Teenager super hero get's a GED and tries to do their own thing would be better and fresher than any highschool story.
>>92902534
That show had the absolute best version of the Mandarin.
>>92904742
Plot twist: he finds out making it in the real world is hard with just a GED and he ends up turning into a supervillain.
Because teenagers are shit. The fact that the MC is a teenager ends up being an excuse for having shitty behavior that leads to flat stories because god forbid anything happen that hasnt been done before happens.
how about a college student hero. fuck high school
hi

>What is Boku no Hero Academia?

>1st scene in 1st episode
>Giant woman who does fanservice
Weeaboo shit
>>92896722
You don't High School sucks. People who peaked in High School are now flipping my burgers and spitting in my tacos.
Life is good.
>>92898645
I hate Anime that focuses on High School or has it's protagonists in some kind of schooling.
I know education is important in Japan, and Japanese youths spend the majority of their days in school or participating in after school clubs, but fuck me I don't want to read about that shit.
I don't want high school drama in my Super Sentai Bioweapon comics or anime, or in general.
>>92906215
Woah it's almost as if one of the points of her character is she's a massive camera whore as a new hero who would of guessed!

>protag fucking cries like a bitch every episode
>feels like naruto few episodes in
>protag still crying at every second
This nigger's power is being able to stay hydrated at all time.
>>92896722
I am still disappointed that there is no Multiversity college AU.
Crash Nebula spin-off was our only hope.
>>92896722
Why weren't they in school?
>>92906432
>Dropped out because "lol freak"
>Home schooled
>Legit went to high school
>Was probably home schooled
>Legit went to high school
>>92906515
You're gonna need some citations for all that.
>>92906432
They also went to Cool School.
>>92906383
To be fair he does spend most of the series breaking his bones whenever he uses his power. he even gave himself permanent arm damage.
>>92906383
>protag fucking cries like a bitch every episode
>protag still crying at every second
The anime is so good at imitiating american cartoons that it even squeezes some steven universe in there!
>>92906829
Deku isn't a whiny crybaby tho, he's a GAR cryMAN.
>>92896722
Joker and Scarecrow show up in the lunchroom in trench coats and kill all the Chads halfway through the story.
>>92906383
>I watched three episodes and then stopped
>>92907394
Why would you continue watching something that after 3 whole episodes didnt catch your attention anon, dont you have things to do?
>>92896722
See first season of Smallville
>>92906367
Even if thats the case, if you choose that scene as your opening for your first episode, you're clearly making an statement about what you're in for, fanservice.
>>92896722
>good […] High School story
That's an oxymoron dude.
>>92896872
Same where other places get their new storylines? Slowly introduce it. That just put him on the path of a hero but there are still lessons to learn and future threats before graduation. All he did was suspend some biases before gaining powers.
Does Ms Marvel count or is there not enough high school? I think a couple of webcomics probably qualify.
>>92901169
> checks sales and ratings
Yeah, good
>>92898645
>Shonen
>good
>>92906177
>Only four non-Manlets in cast
>>92910666
Alright, Civil War II was the best comic last year, gotcha.
>>92907770
Not that Anon, but I recommend watching at least the first FIVE episodes before making a decision to stop. If you watch all five of them and THEN decide it's not for you, that's a bit more understandable.
Highschool is the time when ordinary humans are at their absolutely worst. You can't make anything good out of that.
>>92906215
If that's as far as you made it in, you're doing yourself a disservice.
>>92910741
To be fair, they're highschoolers, so they've still got some growing to do. Mineta will always be a manlet, though.
>>92906426
Holy shit, this.

Deku needs to cry periodically to burn off excess testosterone, if he didn't he'd die of being an ABSOLUTE MADMAN
>"What's this? My punches aren't working and my arms are shattered husks of limbs?"
>"PUNCH HARDER YOU SAY?"
>"Oh no, there are still villains around?"
>"Well, I have legs still, don't I?"
>>92906177
