Arkham Origins Batman looks like a dudebro in a batsuit.

The only reason why it was poorly received was because of launch bugs and joker fatigue.

Examined in a vacuum I think it's one of the better games in the series.

I switched to the Post Arkham City suit so many times because the face wasn't as fucked.

The combat is completely fucked up and the map design for the predator sections are nonsense.

I've spent hundreds of hours in this series and Origins is so amateur in comparison it would be as bad as that godawful TMNT Out of the Shadows game if they weren't reusing City's engine.

I recently played thru Arkham Knight for the first time. It's nowhere near as bad as people say. But I've put months of playtime into Origins.

I'd say best to worst is:

1. City
2. Knight
3. Origins
4. Asylum

That said, none are bad, all of these games are better than MOST big brand games. And I'm beyond excited for the new Origins sequel. It sounds like perfection, and I hope it finishes with the Asylum opening.

If everything you say is true then this will be an instant day one buy for me. Origins was actually my favorite out of the bunch. it was definitely flawed and most games did specific things better, but something about Origins story, style, music, and themes stuck with me moreso than City or Knight.

God I hope the next main AAA game from DC has more then just batman and batman villains, like i'd be fine with just playing as batman again but I wanna see at least some cameos of other justice league members and their villains. I understand how it would be hard to have superman and wonder woman show up due to muh power levels, but i'm more talking about street level heroes like green arrow, chuck in the question and have the batfamily have more of a focus rather than just Alfred and Barbara for variety sake at least. Although if they are going to make that rumoured Damien game that would at least solve the problem of variety because its new villains.
