I know this is the same fucking meme thread as like a couple months ago but you'd be surprised how important it is for cashiers to be able to use the register fully. In grocery stores it's called deadringing, and it's meant to be a last resort if a product has somehow managed to not be in the system by the time it's out on the shelf. I'm always yelling at my cashiers because they don't want to try to manually enter the SKU if the barcode isn't working, and then we end up with like ten extra crates of this stupid hipster brand drink than was necessary so we then need to find the space to keep it stored because sending it back is a loss of money and waste of time and just hope to god that that shit doesn't hit expiration date before we sell it off.
You think restaurant management is hard try doing grocery management where even the smallest mistake results in months long losses.
